For some reason my prop firm mt5 is showing delayed candles but seems the server gives correct fills. It's like trading the future without seeing where price is. It's as if the mt5 screen is frozen but only moving slowly compared to my mt4 private account. Anyone come across similar nonsense with prop firms?
Are you using the same indicators on both? Any custom indicators or anything? I noticed that some indicators will really slow metatrader down to a crawl. Could be a software issue, maybe not.

Just using a pivot indicator and round numbers indicator. The mt4 uses a lot of similar stuff but works fine. Coded better perhaps. The mt5 seems glitchy compared to my mt4. My previous prop account was the same. It couldn't be traded using indicators or trade managers as it would slow the candles down.
Was looking at FTMO challenge options. Any one see the advantage to the "Aggressive" account option. Just looks like the same as the regular just double the Loss and double the target and the limit you to half of the max allocation. Anyone see an advantage?

it's math. It's the same. Just you will have later double leverage but 50% less capital, at the end? is the same....

it is a trial, I'm testing myself for the first time with swing trades, but because I'm testing a tool for Risk Rewar ratio, at the end I finish to make day trading, but at least is going well, all the risk is undercontrol, but I have to focus to make some trade and leave it.

But, last few days are difficult, and I can't catch a quality A trade to close eyes and wait.

Perhaps now I find more easy to trade Indexes, gold, silver and eurobund with FTMO, so I'm not looking so much forex.

I think, whether or not you believe Takisd, is irrelevant. We can all see that these firms are prospering. But as I say, in order to accurately gauge long-term health and sustainability, we would need to know more than just profits, we would need to know profit margins as well as percentage of fixed costs etc.. I think Takisd is trying to explain some of that in order to offer a more realistic view of what these firms are actually seeing, profit-wise.

We can use the 5%er's new model as an example. You would need to invest a lot of time and effort in order to take full advantage of their offerings. If you thought that they would not be around for very long, then you probably would not want to waste your time doing that.

Similarly, if you thought that all of the top firms might not be around for another year, then your approach to trading, saving and investing etc., may all change. Likewise, you would not apply for a job at a company if you thought that they would not be around for very long, even if your only loss was time-invested, especially if you had other options to consider.

Perhaps some people here treat this as a side-hustle or a hobby (or worse, a lottery). But there are people here that treat this as an actual business and earn a living from it. To each their own, as always.

I understand your point of view and I agree with it. But trading is already too complicated, so why we trying to complicate it even more. As I said, two of the best firms in the industry kicked me last year, I was challenge maxed in one of them, so I no longer believe in long-term work with either of them. Well, it doesn't hurt so much when you're ready for it. This is just my experience anyway.

I also see fast lambo success stories everywhere, which is also encouraged by props. I think you understand these things. Well. I don't care how they make money and I hope they don't mind if I make mine. Will this industry be with us for a long time? Not sure and not care. But I'm sure that they make money mainly(maybe only) from challenges. Fee for failure, reverse trade of losing traders, whatever you want. And I'm absolutely sure that there is no challenge model with losing traders = no props. Ok there is another way with instant funding, CTI instant, 5ers old model(new instant funding model is still crap), but if trader can't do the math how can he trade at all?

I know some people in my bank's invest management department, well, that's not even close to the prop industry. So I'm not under any illusions about this bullshit like "we're looking for successful traders", "your trading skills - our capital", etc. To be honest, I would hate to go back to trading on my personal account with my broker, but sooner or later it will happen. So okay.

Basically we are all safe as long as there is a crowd of people like us who want to earn money and buy challenges. Well, just choose firms from the top 5, learn how to earn, maxing, scaling, withdraw profits to your bank account. Enjoy trading life with props but be ready to back to reality. That's all. Just my view of things.

p.s Also if Takisd wants to help us all, maybe just maybe things like "I have but not share" not the right way. No complaints of course

You were kicked from two props due to geographical restrictions (Russia) or because of something else ?

I'm Russian. I don't know this is an administrative restriction "from above" or choice of props but what's the difference my list of companies just has decreased. Geographical restriction, sanctions, hard to payouts, toxic source of money, canceled culture. Your pick.
Today was hard day, too much weak EU markets, too much trend, even buying US indexes no speed... gold and silver was hard, fast market on EURUSD ... and so on.
So at the end I pass my day to enter and exit waiting for a bargain and swing, but never came a good opportunity.

So this are my stats now. I would like to know because I made more daytrading than swing, if to have a RRR at 1 is so bad, or at least the winning ratio and profit factor have some value.

I will try next time to trade less possible, however I like the idea that even doing lots of trades, using a risk tool panel, I was able to manage the risk much better than scalping with a stop loss tool and high leverage due to the impossibility to manage each trade with the correct size (auto lot).

So if continue to go well in the next days, or next trials, I should be ready to try a challenge, or I could use a personal account or pamm account, to test live with this new tool my swing/daytrading skills.
