Disliked{quote} PC, you wrote 2 parts in your post. I address the first part. The bolded statement. Seen this behaviour so many times on FF. First of I'm a retiree to give context to my post. I joined Forex trading forums about 10 years ago. With the intention to discuss and chat about forex trading. So I have to present what I think about how to go about trading Forex. I was expecting open robust on point dialogue to examine in detail what is correct and what is incorrect as a goal. I took a no bias position always willing to change my point of view if...Ignored
BWilliam,
I appreciate your input here and so I will respond. I am going to use 'kid gloves' for this because I know that most people assume Human Psychology (the real stuff, not modern day Psych) is either BS or 'too complicated/unimportant'. What I will do here is not argue or belittle your ow efforts. Instead, what I will do here is try and take you further. Your own role in your learning is a great way to determine what is redeemable as you have already experienced. And when done properly, leads a person to realize the cause/effect relationships. You have mentioned this and that is good. But you have mistaken a few things. Allow me to explain...
There is a difference between conditioning and nature. In a purely basic way, people are born, they live, they learn, they pass on what they have learned and then they die. Pretty simple. But if you superimpose certain conditioning (forced and usually sustained ingredients) over the top of this basic nature, then you get a mutated form. What you and that video are speaking of is part of a style of conditioning, not nature. As much as I know people will 'disagree', this is not just a theory, it is something observed over multiple decades and after decades of research into people and society and all its history.
What you are saying does relate to online forum sites such as FF, but FF is not an isolated one-off platform/environment. The net is littered with these sites on all topics and subjects. So the question must be asked - Did it start with forums or, does it start somewhere else? To answer this you must be a time traveler and look into current modern history, recent history, older modern history and all the layers of ancient history. Because most people are guided by their fleeting interests rather than a deeper need, they usually never do this and so they never learn of other things.
Seeing as human society in its present form (both local and global) is artificial in every aspect, it's understandable why people would assume it is a self perpetuating 'natural creation'. It tends to cover each and every cause and effect aspect to living, as far as living is known and understood by modern people. So generally, people just accept that 'it is what it is'.
But upon looking at the linear and non-linear timelines of human history (staying away from conspiracy theory/alien stuff etc) it becomes very clear that there is definitely an enormous difference between nature and conditioning. Looking at how people very successfully live and exist without modernness, as well as how people live successfully WITH modernness is a true eye opener.
So if FF and platforms like this are indeed NOT the beginning, then what is? There is only really one answer to this, after you breakaway from modern day thinking and psychopathological style treatment and mentality .... the answer is the individual person. Each person chooses the level of 'sanity or insanity' they deem palpable and desirable. But this comes with conditions/strings attached. In the modern day 'society' of man, certain boundaries have been either weakened or even broken and do not exist in general anymore. Money has been a powerful catalyst in this happening. As has the growing absence of the process of a person's life growth re: child to adolescent to adult. What was once called the 'rite of passage'.
So FF and forex trading, is, by its own hand, just an extension of these things. As is people's behavior, attitudes, beliefs and their other personal issues that linger in the background of every single day of their life. So, what was once the bedrock of human growth, is now seen as useless because modern society will 'tell you everything'.
If we are talking about just 'labeling' something so we can go back to our regular lives, then I would point to FF as a mirror of the effects of superimposed conditioning. Modern Psychology does not perform any thorough test on all this to understand it from a truly objective position, because this would entangle it in the web of cause and effect and after enough research, it becomes clear to anyone that it has been a deep strong catalyst to creating MORE problems than it has cured or solved. Therefore it has no motivation to lift the veil to shine a light on society as it really is, because it has helped create what we have today and call "society". And so it is partly to blame for all aspects of Life being what we see today.
So on the surface it seems or appears to be certain things, but people would be very justified to look with better eyes and learn about themselves beyond the usual stuff.
Something people may find very interesting and helpful here is, the more you behave a certain way, the more you become what you behave as. You mentioned people behaving like children and you would be correct in certain contexts, to say that when you combine the governance and government we have in society, coupled with all the changes to family, changes to the person (both emotionally and mentally) and to how people communicate and interact, work and how they use their spare/free time, it becomes truly self evident that people desire "others" to make the decisions and 'govern them'.
I have always known, re: FF, that what you deem as important becomes part of your core beliefs. And this then spills over to your thoughts, actions and overall behavior. So an immature person (regardless of physical age) whether on a forum or in their own trading activities, will struggle to achieve.
A simple test that could be performed to see this in action = Ban private trading of all kinds on all levels worldwide and see what happens. Observe people and watch how they deal with this.
By observation of this, you will see a simultaneous top-down and bottom-up insight into people's immaturity, ignorance, selfishness. But these should not be called 'natural'. Not in this day and age.
Personal psychology is the hub where lies become viewable and a basic honest truth is permissible.
Although I haven't been able to cover everything in this small space, I will finish with this .....
Each person has the right to investigate (top-down bottom-up) what is relevant, important, what was and is, to then appreciate the simple idea that your ignorance cannot protect anything or anyone real or important to you.
Trading is merely a reflection of all this. And can be gone in a flash. So what have you learned....Layer upon layer upon layer?
