Hi Steviet,

seems like we both are in the same boat (even though my daily bars close at 11:00 PM NY time) I also had all my positions stopped, except for the UJ. Riding that boat until it makes water!!!!

Lets see what happens tomorrow. I am enjoying your system. Planning to go live after after the 1st week of jan. Hope to make enough micro-pips to visit you and invite you to a few macro-pints!!!!

Take care.

Another choppy day which isn't great for my system but have to overcome these.

USDCHF was stopped out for minus 53 pips (mind you, it beat yeaterday's high and low lol), EURUSD stopped out for minus 47 & USDCAD for minus 26.

GBPUSD survived by the skin of its teeth & USDJPY just keeps on trucking. Open trades are......

GBPUSD long from 1.9616 (s/l 1.9550 guarantees minus 66 pips)
USDJPY long from 116.44 (s/l 118.12 guarantees plus 168 pips)

Since trading the system, results have been as expected with 476 pips in Nov & 840 pips in Dec so far. Winning percentage has been between 30 and 40% but it does cut the losses & let the profits run.

I haven't had a loser more than 100 pips (yet) but the biggest winners have been 761 pips & 448 pips, which is the idea of the system long term. Mistakes have been made but isn't hindsight a wonderful thing lol.

Have a great Christmas everyone - I will, its also my birthday on Christmas Day .

Kind Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

Like your system too.

Have a question though. If the previous bar was an inside bar do you still move your SL to the inside bar?

Thanks.

It seems that recent trades have a tendancy to stop early before going into profit. I started early/halfway this month with this system on a demo and until now all off them ended in loss except the USDJPY and one other with a smaller gain.

Do you guys think it is just the time of the year where we don't see a lot of volitility? I like the hands off way of trading this system especially when it is going well.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

Yes, you are right - it 'seems' to have been a difficult month for the system . Only 33% of trades closed have been winners, however still over 700 pips up at nearly 9% profit is a good month in my book. That also discounts the trade still running on USDJPY which has 224 pips profit booked.

It's a system that on the face of it can be disheartening as you can take a loss on trades that would have been in profit if you closed them earlier. However, by doing that you would almost certainly close early the trades that make the system what it is. On my old way of trading, I would never have kept positions 200,300,400,500,600, even 700 pips in profit.

As I said when I started out, my target is 500 pips a month and I will test for the full year. You have to be extremely disciplined and patient but if it works over the full year then I think I have stumbled on something that can work pretty consistently for people that simply cannot sit in front of the pc each day.

It's been another frustrating day on 4 of the 5 trades but when I stepback and look at the whole picture I think again and say, ''hey, it's working just as planned so far''. If I get a big month somewhere then that's a bonus but as long as it reaches my target over the whole timeframe the I'll be more than happy. Remember, 95% of people don't make it and I don't aim to be one of those even if I have to look again in 10 months time.

Kind Regards
Steve

Hi,

The moving of stop losses is rigid - it moves to 10 pips below the previous daily bar low if long or vice versa for short. If the next day, the price goes to or within the 10 pips, the stop loss is not changed.

For example, if I am long on cable and previous day low is 1.9000, I would set my s/l at 1.8990. If, during the day the price hits 1.8995 as a low, I keep the s/l at 1.8990 rather than moving it down to 1.8985.

If after placing a trade, the day follows with an 'outside bar' then both the low & high of the previous day would have been exceeded so chances are the tradewould be stopped out whichever way it had been placed.

Hope this clarifies

Kind Regards
Steve
