Quite easily - I shorted it yesterday but was unlucky to get stopped out by a couple of pips. Otherwise, I'd still be in the trade up 40 pips or so.

From my reading of the charts, I would rather go short here than long - sorry, no fancy indicators, waves etc to confirm - just what I see. I may be wrong but I can take it

Kind Regards
Steve

I'm very sorry but this is not some sort of free signal service - its purely my personal journal on my trades. If you read through my thread you will see that I do have strict rules that are applied with regards to money management, setting stop losses etc. The only 'rule' that may be difficult for others to follow is that I look purely at price action and candlestick formations, not this ema crossing that ema etc etc.

The reason for posting my trades here is so I cannot cheat - you see everything here, good & bad.

Kind Regards
Steve

Hi Stevie

congratulations, you're doing great in all your positions, especially the euro.
I chickened out in GU after collecting 45 pips...I think the tough part is to place the initial entries and to survive the first relatively large S/L.
regards

Stevie,

As i told you before I am following your system and, after a not-so-good-start-thanks-to-NFP, I am in the positive side.

I just wanted to ask you a couple of things:

1- When does your 12 month test period ends?
2- What lessons have you learned so far that you think you will apply to your system after the test period is over/

I hear you loud and clear

I'll be posting an update in about 90 minutes and after moving the s/l on the 5 pairs I think I'll only be guaranteeing about 60 or 70 pips, even though they are currently up around 500 pips. However, I should be able to bag a few hundred pips unless we have a massive retrace tomorrow.

Patience & discipline is the key but I agree its very difficult

Kind Regards
Steve

Great to hear you're doing well - remember this is a live test and I'm not giving recommendations

1. It will end Oct '07
2. Nothing learnt really so far that I didn't already know from backtesting but I'll let you know - I'm pretty confident this will work OK without any modification but others testing it do put their own twist on it to personalise.

Cheers bro
Steve

So, it's 10pm here and all trades are still open with stoplosses adjusted.....

GBPUSD short from 1.9662 (s/l at 1.9724 - guarantees minus 62 pips)
USDCHF long from 1.1997 (s/l at 1.2016 - guarantees plus 19 pips)
EURUSD short from 1.3284 (s/l at 1.3261 - guarantees plus 23 pips)
USDCAD long from 1.1526 (s/l at 1.1527 - guarantees plus 1 pip)
USDJPY long from 116.44 (s/l at 117.17 - guarantees plus 73 pips)

Guaranteed pips from these trades plus 54 pips - they are currently up over 500 pips between them (my whole monthly target) so hopefully will be able to lock in a few hundred pips unless we have a massive retrace tomorrow.

Kind Regards
Steve

USDCAD was stopped out for a 1 pip gain - thats happening a lot lately.

Remaining 4 trades are up around 620 pips so should be able to lock in at least half of that in profits at close tonight unless we see something out of the ordinary.

Kind Regards
Steve

Well, today was a real rollercoaster of a day - I was off work so had the opportunity to watch the charts for most of the day.

I must say, I admire you intra-day traders - I think it would knock years off me

Anyhow, the remaining 4 trades are still open and are....

GBPUSD short from 1.9662 (s/l at 1.9674 guarantees minus 12 pips)
USDCHF long from 1.1997 (s/l at 1.2106 guarantees plus 109 pips)
EURUSD short from 1.3284 (s/l at 1.3196 guarantees plus 87 pips)
USDJPY long from 116.44 (s/l at 117.34 guarantees plus 90 pips)

Total guaranteed from these trades is 274 pips - trades are currently in profit by 725 pips so hopefully we can lock some more in at Monday's close.

It is proving to me how powerful this can be with patience and discipline - just get through the ranging periods with a small loss or break even and then reap the benefits at times like these.

Have a great weekend all

Kind Regards
Steve

Yup, looks like the run may be exhausting and as the system insists I take a trade, short looks the best way to go and far less risk than taking a long trade here.

We have a pretty tight stop loss for the system but let's see...

Kind Regards
Steve

Hi all,

Well, its just past 10 pm here and all 5 trades are still open and more profit has been locked in

Current trades.......

USDCAD short from 1.1576 (s/l at 1.1597 guarantees minus 21 pips)
GBPUSD short from 1.9662 (s/l at 1.9590 guarantees plus 72 pips)
USDCHF long from 1.1997 (s/l at 1.2176 guarantees plus 179 pips)
EURUSD short from 1.3284 (s/l at 1.3128 guarantees plus 156 pips)

Hi Steve,

I have read this thread past weekend and have started on Sunday to enter trades and follow your system. I know the first trades will not be like yours (sinc I start halfway of a trend) but I really like it.

I was wondering if you could post a summary of all trades until now.

It for sure looks like a nice system that makes pips with little daily attention.

Thanks for your postings
Eric

Hi Eric,

All trades taken since I went live with this system in mid November have been documented here. As far as net pips gain is concerned, the totals so far are.....

GBPUSD 652 net pips gain (plus 72 on current open trade)
EURUSD 208 net pips gain (plus 156 on current open trade)
USDJPY 218 net pips gain (plus 115 on current open trade)
USDCHF 71 net pips gain (plus 179 on current open trade)
USDCAD 56 net pips gain (minus 21 on current open trade)

Of course, pips aren't everything - what I'm really looking for is a percentage increase in my account balance. On closed trades in December, account balance has increased by 10.27% on the balance at the end of November. Obviously we have a further 500 odd pips to add to that in open trades which will make that nearer a 20% gain so far this month.

Also interesting to note is that even including these 4 open guaranteed winners, the system is not producing 50% winners. However, currently the winners are averaging more than 5 times the amount of the losing trades. Add to that sound money management and I think my system is performing great so far but I want to trade this for a full year before coming to any final conclusion.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards
Steve

Steve,

Thanks for the update. I think it is a great and simple system. I'm trading the system now on a demo account but if sucessfull until end of january start with live trading. After one day of demo I see it is really important to get through the first day or two of a specific trade to lock in some profit.

Thanks,
Eric

OK,

Was stopped out of GBPUSD for a 72 pip gain, EURUSD for a 156 pip gain & USDCHF for a 179 pip gain. Will enter these again at 10pm tonight.

So far this month we have banked a total of 1136 pips equating to an increase of 16.77% account balance from 1st Dec.

Currently still open UJ long and UCAD short.

Kind regards
