Brokers making a loss...

As we all know, most FX traders, usually fail in the market. And the brokers of course make their profits on spreads.

However, I want to know, what if most FX traders became successful in the market. Would this mean that the brokers would make a loss? Because look, if we're using high leverage, then we make high profits, nd those profits have to come from somewhere (coz obviously our initial deposit without leverage would never have allowed us to make that kind of profit). It comes from the broker right? So they end up making a loss? Is that right?!?!

There's always somebody on the other side of a trade, who takes the loss if you make a profit. On mini accounts this is usually the broker. But I think they aggregate all small positions and if there is a large bias in one direction they will hedge it in the interbank market. They will gain most of the spread in almost all market conditions, except for example during news when prices change too fast.

Brokers may give up some money on some smaller trades sometimes, but if you do something that will cause them to lose a lot of money all the time then they will compensate for it.

Either by not allowing you to do this in the first place (by manipulating things like the TP from the open price you can set, the min. time to hold trades, spreads, slippage or whatever) or if they haven't done this then they will put you on manual execution or something later if they find out that you are abusing their hospitality

My understanding is that if you open a position now and close it much later (e.g. 15 mins or tomorrow or something), you shouldn't have many problems because this gives the broker plenty of time to take your trade into account.

If you open and close it for 3 pips in 30 seconds, then things become tricky for the broker. At least this is my understanding.

If you are playing with big lots and the broker just passes it through to the bank, then things are different. Because they don't have to hold the order. Again this is just my understanding. I am no expert, so I may be wrong about this observations based upon other people's posts.
