it is still trading between 111.4 and 112.5

i feel that 111.4 will be a solid bottom and a breakout above 112.5 is possible very soon

I am not sure if it will continue as on the tech side it has a lot of resistance. We are 200 ish pips away from 2 year high. IMHO that means struggle unless we get some surprise fundamentals. If it does get through all that, the next MAJOR RESISTANCE isn't until 118.50 level. That is in the neighborhood of 400 pips upside potential. As always it is News dependent. No trade right now for me...

Strong Buy 110.85-111 into tomorrow..but close order if opens below 110.85 by then. Upward 111.50 first.
Tight difficult market decision for direction on this pair.

112.6, was the high from the last rate hike (Dec 19th). Since that point price has been unable to pass through this area.

Last week as price approached that area it retreated with BOJ being content, and not making any news, go figure.

3 month treasuries have found a range of 2.42-2.46, this range will give the FOMC no reason to change course.

Now how does this relate to UsDJPY?

Historically since Powell’s term as The FeD’s chairman, UJ has retreated following a rate hike and then a continuation after FOMC meetings minites. This retreat would last 3-5 weeks afterwards until the following meeting.

History repeat itself?

Only time will tell, with high probability of doing so. Price of course will move up and down along the way way but finding the bias always gives a trader higher probability of finding success. In this case the bias being downwards from the historical data.

i think that it will go back up after FOMC is done

if the trade deal is announced next week, then this pair will explode
