    At today’s meeting the Governing Council of the ECB decided that the interest rate on the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 0.00%, 0.25% and -0.40% respectively. Regarding non-standard monetary policy measures, we have started to expand our monthly purchases under the asset purchase programme to €80 billion. Yes, the response to the March 10th announcement was generally positive as eurusd moved from 1.1000 on March 10th to about 1.1350 today. Assuming traders are of the same mind as one month ago, we should see a continued rise in the pair.
The problem is, traders knowing the history are already prepared for similar situations, the reaction function changes. Therefore outcome can be compeletly opposite.

I try to keep out of the market during these events, especially when there is no clear direction after the release.
