ECB Monetary policy decisions

At today’s meeting the Governing Council of the ECB decided that the interest rate on the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 0.05%, 0.30% and -0.30% respectively. The President of the ECB will comment on the considerations underlying these decisions at a press conference starting at 14:30 CET today.

Be careful my friend the Euro could do the opposite of your expectations and strengthen against some others like it did last time

Right now the EURO/Pound is going up because of Pound weakness but let's see what happens...

We all knew that Mario needed to talk it down,,, Now can it keep some of the move to allow the pair to get back to where it should be. The important Take away is the ECB is willing to do whatever is needed. that statement will allow monetary policy divergence to start to take control the market and allow the banks to make moves that will stabilize the pair in a meaningful way.
