    At today’s meeting the Governing Council of the ECB took the following monetary policy decisions: 1. The interest rate on the main refinancing operations of the Eurosystem will be decreased by 25 basis points to 0.75%, starting from the operation to be settled on 11 July 2012. 2. The interest rate on the marginal lending facility will be decreased by 25 basis points to 1.50%, with effect from 11 July 2012. 3. The interest rate on the deposit facility will be decreased by 25 basis points to 0.00%, with effect from 11 July 2012. If you look at the correlation of EUR/USD pair and Gold, you will see that from past EU rate, it dipped ~150 pips, then followed by a fake rally upwards. The next few days were followed by 1200pips further drop. Of course no one (I mean us small retail traders) knows apart big players where it is heading but even big players get stopped as well sometime, good example IS STANLEY MORGAN, those idiots have been trapped and stopped 4 times for the past 1 year alone, IMHO they are horrible and lousy traders who can't even read a chart themselves despite having all the interbank messages made available to them.

So best trade with your RS lines.

Are you joking? I'm convinced that this is a currency in the death throes of it's existence. There was no intelligent planning, or awareness, of the cultural and economic differences between various members. The Dodo is now extinct and, eventually, the Euro will go the same way.

Bringing this back to pure basics. Where is the logic of trying to integrate countries of a different cultural background and economic blueprint? It has never made sense to me and, probably, never will

The general marketplace viewpoint, from our analogy would of been one of disappointment that the ECB isn't doing more than just another round of passive bond purchasing.

The rates stayed the same, and this is viewed as weak.

However from a technical standpoint we can view the EURO powers that be, to be "going long term" with their plan. They aren't going to roll out any extremes.

A 1.20 EURO does seem likely, and basically completing the (it gets worse before it gets better) cycle.

We shorted the eur/usd and eur/jpy last night, and as far as Bulls are concerned. Perhaps a few scalps here and there but if you are thinking Long Term Bull positions right now, we will have to agree to disagree.

If US launch QE3 it will default on its humongous debt. Think of it, they cut governmen spendigs, job creation is almost stalling consumer spendigs fall ... I see no bullish perspective on USD when there is just talks on QE3?

Besides if the rise of USD will coninue FED will need to a) print more or b) directly intervene against USD because of rising debt interrest payments.

Its because even Germany knows that it wont hold its economic situation for long if it would not cooperate with others in EU... its that simple if European nations stands separated they would not hold where they are, they will be beaten down so only way for EU o the future is further integration even federalization if EU wants to at least hold its economical status ...

Now it seems like they do not have enough strenght to act, but even mice in the corner bites... so Germany and France would have to convince Britain to cooperate on greater scale ... or well who cares for Europe

ECB simply cant do more when ECB does not have mandate for it. Its not regular central bank. Even Spanish or Greek central bank has more under its discretion than ECB does.

Just look at the Latin Monetary Union for an example. People just use greed and abuse the system to benefit their own country.

speculators talk very opposite they talk if rate cut then bullish euro but its almost 150 pips bearish euro so just control your mind and dont take adverse steps in the volatility
