Guys, please find attached vFormation Mutli Display indicator, I think it can be handy to check v-formation on different TF's and pairs from single chart. Please don't forget to put both indicators in indicator folder.

Hi Guys,
I am using the Ctrader platform and would really like to use the V formation strategy that you are looking at. Is it possible to use this on Ctrader or will i have to migrate over to MT4? and if i have to migrate, how do i integrate the ex4 files that i see?

Thank you altoronto. Have installed your indicators on 12 pairs and having a play with them on demo to see how it goes. Will report back with my findings on both indicators and actual strategy.

Hi alldirex, yes , once you are out and a new formation is complete you should enter in the new signal direction.

I am testing with the EA on smaller tf as a scalping method but not yet convinced , have to try more pairs and TF

indi doesn't show arrow CAD H1.
Add the choice of color of arrows.

Poruchik, because is set to first close candle. Take a look indicator settings and set onCurrent = true, then you'll see arrows on current bar. I prefer on first close candle.

It would be possible for you to add an option to choose the time frames.
Or show all time frames by default.

Hi. It looks pretty evident that any platform would be able to show this setup. Then if you do want to move to MT4 and take advantage of the indicators posted here, you will find the correct procedure on this page http://en.tradimo.com/learn/metatrad...tom-indicator/

Have you checked it on daily only? I wonder if the rate of success could be improved by using range bars or similar, appropriately set (higher intervals that is).

If you watch and study the original videos on YouTube I think you will see that this is not a scalping or short TF system. Maybe 4H, but definitely Daily TF and up. There are obviously less setups occurring in the Daily but the idea is to run and manage the trade once a setup has occurred. Just visually looking at random pairs on the Daily TF you will see that there have been some big moves following a V formation. I am not sure that we can judge this system on such a short period of time that we have been made aware of it. Just my thoughts.

H4 results not looking good. 8 losers, 1 winner. I'll give it a try on D1. If that isn't any better, then it's back
to something better.

I'm of the opinion that few if any strategies can work in isolation. and think that some corroborating means to support a potential trade needs to be present also.

The V system is no different in that respect so far as I'm concerned, which means blindly taking a trade solely on the appearance of a V will lead to more disappointing trades than not. How any trader adds an extra layer (perhaps 2) to support an entry is really down to the individual, using whatever method they are accustomed to and are comfortable using. After all that, then realistic stops, targets are required, and let the trade play out, using sensible mm. Thereafter, the only thing that can really mess you up is lack of discipline and patience.

ChicagoRob, are these results using the EA posted on this thread?

I would suggest you to trade manually on a demo for a few days on D1.

The results will be better than what you have had so far..

Also, watch the youtube videos of Paul to know where to put the stops and/or attach trailing stops if you prefer to do so..
