Trading with range bars ichimoku cloud & awesome oscillator

Stay with the standard M5 off line charts and I would change the BarRange to 5 for 5 pips rather than using 50 pips.

Rocky how about day like today - I mean news at NY open time..
I waited for news to get announced (USD and CAD), and was watching charts afterwards.
Do you open positions even before news? Or wait always after news..

I wonder how this EURCAD plays out:

I narrowed my searching to EUR / GBP / USD / CAD / JPY combinations (left out AUD, NZD, CHF) for sake of simplicity..

Endy yes i did, don't remember the fourth trade though, took same screenshot twice. think i'll blame it on the sleeping pill i took, not used to it, leaves me not very sharp when i get up, and kind of tired all day. thats why i'll only take 1 once in a awhile.

I do enter trades before news announcements especially if not marked as red, but try to do it at least a an hour prior,then deciding what I want to do just prior to announcement. after announcements will usually wait 15-20 min. before going back in..

four trades, not tons of action or volume today, no duplicates today endy brain fully functional.

Greetings, The first chart is the H4 range bar and the second is the offline M5 of the same forex couple. Pse confirm we should wait for the trend on M5 to be heading in the same Direction as the H4, before we climb in, thus if H4 is upward, we should buy into M5 when it is upward. If it were counter trend then it should be expecting shorter sharper positions.

Rocky, in regard with today's NY session, would you go into GBPUSD short? see picture..

Morrishe, yes that is essentially correct, but please note i do not use multiple time frame s when i trade. Many people do but I prefer to keep things as simple as possible, I'm not that smart

Endy, No I tossed gbp/usd chart when I started today, herky jerky for my tastes. Actually if you look I rarely trade gbp/usd.

dwe213, try to follow these steps when market is open (note, that it won't work over weekend, when market is closed (no ticks are comming)).

1. Open 1m chart and attach to it Range bars EA with these settings.


2. Then go File -> Open Offline


3. And find EURUSD,M3 chart and click Open.

Chart like this should open and the price should be moving just like 1m chart price moves:


4. Then on the EURUSD,M3 chart apply template downloaded from thread (rightclick on chart, go Template -> pick downloaded template) and you should be there.


Now you can minimize 1m chart (don't close it!) and you are ready to milk the markets

I am currently reviewing http://completecurrencytrader.com/to...ngth-indicator .

How doe one choose which couples would be the most advantageous to trade. GBP been the strongest and NZD/CAD the weakest, so should one of the couples be GBP/jNZD buy? or sell?, how does one determine which currency to buy or sell? and how does one choose 4 or five other currencies to trade.

Looking at the other power meter it shows Cad been the weakest currency and the right hand side indicates that one should buy, Why buy the primary and not sell? Sorry I am trying to get my mind around the logic.

1) Complete currency trader, I use that for 1 min and 5 min. setting, which let me know if what I see on the 4hr. setting on winners edge is still viable..

2) these indicators are not used by me to pick pairs, just to find the weakest and strongest currencies.

3) Today strong ones were Aud and NZD, but moves were too early for me and there are no really weak currencies so no trades for my trading time frame.
All you need to do is pick the strong and weak currencies. again say AUD for today then check the all the charts with the AUD(major currencies no exotics)
and look for charts that are setting up for possible moves and are the the type od chart that appeals to you.
