Eur 5min that I also posted in Mr. Pip thread

Here we have everything coming together to show the recent up swing today in the Euro. We have a retest of a fork with confluence of 61.8, as well as a symmetrical follow through of 49 pips and 52 pips respectively. Notice how the large volume climaxs signal changes of the trend as well. This is the ibettervolume indicator, and is programmable to show alerts.

is there a name for the symmetrical move? i mean the 2 white lines? i see this kind of moves all over chart

Me too. If you find any indicators of the pattern, feel free to point them out.

Assuming you label the 4 sequential pivots (LHLH or HLHL) as "A B C D", then these symmetrical moves are also called AB=CD, meaning the move from A-to-B is equal to the move from C-to-D.

Posted this also in Mr. Pip thread. Notice how price stalls and volume increases on the 61.8% retracement. This means there are buyers there obviously. price breaks out of the fork, but then forms a nice sliding parallel with

AB=CD Pattern

I adjusted the fib expansion I use to include the 0 level here as point C, but I usually don't use that. Load this template on a 5min chart. The fib move will give you an approximation of the AB=CD. If price hits 38.2 and 50% can go to 127% or 161.8 extension. If price hits 61.8% may go to 161.8%. If price hits 78.6, may go to 100 or 127 depending.. Look up the book Trade What You See by Pesavento. This is just another tool. Tim called the measured moves before, and used to use them quite often if you look at the old IB videos I posted a link to in the thread. Carolyn Boroden has some good work on this as well, aka The Fibonacci Queen.

The Fibonacci Expansion tool modified does the same thing as the 2 trendlines drawn out and copied, it is just often times I would rather draw the lines than have more horizontal levels on my chart messing things up. Remember the ATR 200 or 55 X1.3 + spread SL and you will start to make money with this in no time. Many times I have a SL of 10 pips and a take profit of 40 pips or more on an intraday trade.

Lets see how this does

price reversed at middle median line as original thought.

reversing at the 100%

and volume comes in at the upper median line parallel to bring it down again.
