You don't do splits very often, so gear down on position size until you have traded them a bunch and get comfortable with them.

Time to share with the group.... What have you learned as you swing from up 167 to a month down 72 to a month down 14? What are you learning, are you more confused than ever, are you figuring things out about yourself?

I think you had a good Jan and Feb, horrible March and not much better start to April.... what are you doing? What are you not doing? What have you learned, are you more confused than ever?

After my rough March, I analyzed all my trades since like November. It was pretty clear to me that the degree of my success lied in my ability to trade clear setups that had a pretty defined risk. When I started swaying from this due to things like: not wanting to miss, or not having traded in a while, or trying to recoup a loss/bad month, thing took a turn for the worse. It made perfect sense, and still does.
Some days I do the right thing, some days I don't.
I think the reason for my extended successes is that I can hone in on the things that make for the best scenario throughout the session - such as: clearly defining where I want to trade from, clearly defining risk of a trade and not leaving any of that to chance or "see what happens" mindset, and also being willing to miss if I don't get a decent/good entry. Jumping in on trades worked a couple months ago often for me, but in the long run, wiser entries will pay.

Am I confused? A little bit. I know that following the above gets me to positive territory. So that is good to see through my past trades. Need to keep reiterating that in my head. The confusion is more detailed with regard to seeing the chart. I miss details and think something is one thing, but later on I realize it was something else.
Basically I have the tools to be positive in a month. They do however, still need quite a bit of sharpening.

I feel the post you made on 3rd March rings true for me. I don't know what makes me successful and therefore I don't know what I'm doing differently when I'm not successful. I think I was keeping it very simple at the start of the year, but when i took some losses I started looking for reasons why I lost, which added complexity and confusion and I started focusing on detail rather than the bigger story.

At the moment I feel like I'm not taking trades I should be taking. I was away last week, but I didn't manage many trades this week. When I look at the charts the following day I see trades i feel I should have taken. I've been through this cycle before and it often leads to forcing trades and taking poor options.

I don't know that I'm confused more than ever, but I am confused. Am I figuring things out about myself? Not sure.
