$25 for XLF is a high for the last many years but it traded up to $30 and change before the US financial crisis....you could look at cheap call spreads further out in time - maybe Jan '18 $28/29 for 8c....?

not to mention the Squid is running the apparatus behind the curtain, they're looking to roll back Dodd-Frank, etc....maybe GS a better bet?

/GC down near $10, I might try to catch a slide back to GLD $115 over the next few weeks.......put vert nothing fancy, 10c risk to net 4x at best

Getting some momo on these things. Got 9 contracts short on this and another 5 on in the Yen futures at a similar level. plus 15 on in gold futures short at 1256 aggregate(Ya I doubled down when we double topped), a boatload of GLD 120 puts for 5.20 aggregate and still sitting on those 20+ Dirty futures from 53.55(I'd like to sell more above 51)

Ya man the big boys dont want the shiny at these prices. I think the squid likes shiny stuff just under $1k

I waa gonna add to my squid position but I'm starting to get tight on margin and those damn ratio spreads I like gobble it up quick in big boy stocks like the squid

@ NY open tried to fill GLD and GS spreads as noted just above, no dice. Will look again tomorrow....

Filled a MS May 43/46 Call spread for a buck... literally risking like .20 of the stocks underlying move...If it drops under 42.60 Ill close it

I usually don't sniper trades like this but it seems like too good of a R:R to pass up. Its like a 20:1 if it hit 46 today...lol

idk what it takes to move the ^VIX anymore. It has to be something completely out of the blue, a surprise not baked into the pie. I don't mind putting on some long vix trades thru the etn's or whatever, but I will always do it with cheap spreads...

$236 SPY calls calendar closed worth about 60c .... SPY closed at $235.75 so I coulda held for 3 days into the long calls next week maybe catch a pop.....oh well, these things are always dicey if you take them to the last hours....if your name is pinning the strike best scenario is to have a big pile so you can take some off with a nice 2x-3x profit and leave the rest for a shot at glory in the following days

filled at 20c..great trade foo, way to catch the pullback backasswards. A month b4 the heart of Q1 earnings, could be a good time for a real pullback....

bro there's a 12 step program for long vol traders.....hope springs eternal, though - anyway I just don't see it...sideways is the new down. Even today, the spoos was down >0.5% for most of the morning & now looks like it wants to finish flat. You just can't kill the Boogie Man....

Ya it's killing all my vert debit spreads. Even big directional moves are not really pushing vol anywhere. Without Vega options trading is a grind.

Good time to play the futures and currency markets.

I'm gonna crack open my TST accnt nxt week. I have 180k in there from the combine I haven't touched in awhile.

filled another 6 contracts at 51.72.
30 contracts on dirty aggregate 53.16 entry now.

I'd like to see 36 in the next few month's. maybe China or russia will drop the petrodollar?

boogie chilluns....lets get this bullmarket 2,400 breakout going....I filled a SPY call calendar Apr7/Apr12 @ $240 today for 11c, hope to run some of it into next week on the bo. I have similar SPX 2,400. Not shooting at anything short other than cheap SPY put and UVXY call spreads out in time
