i have a question... do you show active trades on your chart??.. i do it , but i sense wishfull thinking gets in my mind.
today i started to notate my position on paper and remove the entry points from my charts... but i miss them

how do you keep track of your position ?? a average position on your chart (worst imho), entry-points plotted in your chart, (for me) this both leads to wishing price to move to a certain point

what is the best way to keep track of your position on paper or in yr mind (lot-sizes and also price)

in our mind is great but not real for most of us (like myself) on paper takes some study, but we can do it.
even with my eyes open i cannot see everything

Hello J-Pax,

If I follow your point correctly, for me, I found helpful to keep tracking all open positions in a log (on paper). That is to calculate a BE average and MM for some platforms as well as to control myself where the average/ total size is provided (however to be alert and prevent technical mishaps). That would also ensure me with a follow-up analysis. Apart from a pure price movement, I may only have a visual signal line on my chart. That is also a sound/ audio notification when price reaches a level I want/ must be aware of.

I use the tennis racquets to electrocute cockroaches as well, on the odd occasion one decides to wander into our home. If you manage to trap them underneath the racquet and flip them onto their back, their legs stick to the racquet and they smoke! Horrible smell but better than spraying half a can of insect repellent in your kitchen, which is what it seems to take to knock one of these bu**ers out.

good to see you around again, sorry but i am probably your worst nightmare then when it come showing trade data, i have it all on my charts all the time, i even have another program i can pull up that calculates all the combined trades and shows the drawdown, profits, losses and %'s ect for all the current and booked trades for the new/current year.

Not sure if this is good advice or not:
I have 2 screens - 1 RoK and the other whatever I am trading showing smaller D1/ H1/m15 and m5 (largest by far as I trade off m5) of pair I am trading.
I trading eurusd this morning so I show my live eurusd trades on all my eurusd charts - I am used to it and it doesn't bother me and my average (auto calc) on D1 only as that was affecting me but no problem now it is off my trading chart - but I do have d1 in view - I found it became a rescue target in a bad way leading to me not being nimble instead of letting price give me what it would.

thank you for the response @exnav and everyone. in my platform (oanda) i can plot BE. (break even) level. and it stops me from cutting losses.... wishfull thinking. The entry-points i think i'll keep co i can use the function " close trade" on these.

i am reading your thread technical analysis fallecy it is great. I am using greed for my entries 123581321 this way . I buy 1 if not work goes against me after 10 points i buy 2 then i buy 3 at same distance.as price retrace to my side by 20 points i get profit and i close the trade but some times i get traped as it keeps falling against me. Using fix grid is right way or i have to do anything else
My equity was 150000 cents when i start , i was in buy usd/jpy position on 15 march. That day at night it falls it continue to fall for next two weeks i fight it till 24 march as i was expecting retracement my loss was above 100000 cents waiting further may wash out all my equity so i closed the trade with near 100000 cent loss

Hi abhiberde

First I am sorry to hear to you lost about 65% of your account, unfortunately this now puts you in a position that will be very difficult emotionally and financially to recover from as you will need to gain about 186% if you only use what is left in your account to recover just your loss.. not an easy task for anyone to do within a reasonable time frame.

May I suggest you try out the things you read here in demo first to train your abilities to a reasonable level before going live, I am afraid I suspect you as many who have come here have made the mistake of seeing the lesson on the skews and believed it is the key to success and failed to/missed the other important lessons to practise and experience contained within the threads start (first 200 pages), you need to be very flexible in your approach to trading and again I am afraid I see some rigidity in your posts about how you managed your trade, managing your trades as one entity for the benefit of your account is a far better way to trade i have found rather than blindly entering and trying to only get to/past the break even point of any particular pair you may be trading, it is all in the thread but you must understand and accept you will not become a consistently profitable trader overnight, it took me the best part of 5 years from the first day I started trading, the first 3 years I wasted on the mainstream stuff and only found this thread after that when I was at my most disillusioned with all the rubbish that is out there about how to trade, if you are serious about trading read the thread many times (at least first 200 pages) and practise with every tool and strategy you find and then ask questions if needed, but I have personally found it better to test things to destruction and back yourself so you have the experience to draw on when needed.

1) when you in the bank, is the staff there had to trade in the morning which is the SG time from 7am to 11am?
do they had to just start trading? or do they can wait till noon when london open?

2) about the 3 kingdom, had you been force to dance with all the 3 pair in same time? if yes, how often ?
i ask this because i notice that sometimes, i do have to dance with 3 of them.
