Perhaps there is a stale cache on FF. Hence it's serving up old data. Most likely a issue with their CDN.

Got a reply from FF admin. As suspected, they are doing some work on their site. New temporary link for now is:

It worked for me.

nope. still File error message.

dailyFx is working although does not reflect daylight saving time change.
I want to ask you if possible to have :

1. local time/on computer when is news instead how many hours until news... or make it optional?
in other words would you be willing to code it to have when is news in local time instead time until news?

2.Just one line news to be listed not all of them, to be optional /user's choice

Would you consider it??

The workaround (downloading xml file directly from FF) is working for a while, then newscal stops working.
I have version 1.07c.
Anyone else?

Manual workaround won't always work with 1.07c. Try v1.08 and the URL given in post 1.

Something still not good , i use this indicator inside the DBMultiASMdev and still not working after one week , i see the breaking news only , and not all time, not the Tim Morris updated Calendar . I wish place this malfulction inside the proper forum but there the people seems interested on pins only and i place it here.
I hope all can have a solution nearly , i like hear the alarm sound on every event and i lost it totally , for the rest no problem the news still appearing on the dashboard correctly blocking the trades.

That's inconvenient, but it works for me too. Also tried the other URLs:

https://cdn-nfs.forexfactory.net/ff_...isweek.xml?v=1 works in my browser but not in the indicator
https://cdn-nfs.forexfactory.net/ff_...r_thisweek.xml gives me the calendar from two weeks ago
https://www.forexfactory.com/ffcal_week_this.xml is still working for me, so I'm sticking with that one for now.

- NewsBrk 007
- NewsCal 1.08

Are working perfectly, Euclid.

In case of problem, people has to check that there is no older version of your indicators running on any chart.
If yes:
- remove them,
- place NewsCal 1.08 on a chart,
- set "DeleCacheAtStart" (last parameter in the "Input" tab) to true,
- set alow DLL Imports to tue in the "Common" tab
- restart MT4

Everything should be alright.
Then set "DeleCacheAtStart" (last parameter in the "Input" tab) back to false...

Hi,

I did everything like you said.
But I keep getting "File error".
Have tried all possible FF feed url's.
BTW: The DailyFx feed is no longer available.

EDIT:

Seems to be working on Windows 8 and doesn't work on Windows XP.
Any chance for a version that works on XP ?

EDIT 2:

I copied the NewsCal$CacheFile$0.txt file from my Win 8 to my Win XP MT4 Files folder.

This is what I'm getting :

When I delete that file, I get "File error", and there is no file there.
and, yes, I used that url

It seems like everything is working, except that the code isn't writing the file to the required location.

anybody can recommend a lightweight browser so i can keep forex factory website calendar open without using too much ram? currently firefox uses 250mb ram

Problem solved when the indicator is "on my case" part of other system, the problem is the 2 updates together don't working fine , after a lot of headaches i placed the old newscal and the updated newsbrk inside the subdir /indicators/News change the original http:/.... for https:/ ... and all working like a charm .
If i helped solve the problem for anybody i leave it the two files for don't make more confussions .
For me the problem is solved .

Hi euclid,

This is what happens on my Win XP system:
No file is showing in the Files folder.

I did the following:
Copied the file from the working Win 8 system to the MT4 Files folder in Win XP.
The indicator is working, but not updating.

I tried to copy the .xml from FF manually and save it under the same file name.
The file gets deleted as soon as it is saved, when the indicator is working.
Any change in the format style of the .txt file results in its deletion.

However, when there is no .txt file and the indicator is on the chart, no file appears in the Files folder.
So, there must be some issue connected with the way this .txt file is being written which is not compatible with Win XP.

If I had the source code, I might have been able to fix that myself.
Euclid, your help would be much appreciated.

Same thing here for Windows Server 2012. Anyone found a workaround yet?

Sir, I put your two files in /MQL4/indicators/News, the Breaking News shows up, but Cal still says "download failed".
And where should I change http:/.... to https:/ ... ?

The problem is not the download failed , that's only a buffer owerflow error when the indicator's trying get info that don't exist on file (web) , the problem is that the web's stopped working another time till last Sunday and i receive the notice "No further matching events" in first Calendar instance .. nothing to do on this aspect if somebody is changing the original web composition every week , it's not an indi problem .

In other aspect i'm using this indicator inside the DBMultiASMdev EA then if you don't use this EA you need edit the properties in the NewsCal-v107.ex4 but you need another version of newscalc because on this one you can't change the web internally .
I wish all is clear but at this time i still with no solution bcz the webmasters are changing something day after day i dunno why , that seems like the android updates , everyday 100 updates for make the people bill on internet for nothing new lol .. maybe worse .
