Disliked{quote} I understand that would seem like a better way to break my system down but doing it like that would not work as that is not how my system works. It will make more sense as the thread progresses. Also the last thing I want this to become is me making trading calls for people like some Guru.Ignored
DislikedGetting ready for this week by looking at all the high impact news coming out this week. {image} When looking at these I am looking to see how the releases will line up with the corresponding Central Banks goals and outlook. You want to do this so you can have a general picture of how all of this news could play out and what it would look like each way. I highly recommend going back and reading all 7 of the latest Central Bank statements to see their current outlooks on the economy. This will really help you paint a picture of how the market will...Ignored

DislikedHello Guys, I have a small question. In FF calendar, for a given event, a synopsis is given. Example: "More hawkish than expected = Good for currency;" What does "Good for currency" mean? ThanksIgnored
Disliked{quote} Hello Kinspk, Thanks for the response. I meant to ask, what does the term "Good for currency" indicate in general? Does it indicate the currency will get stronger or something else? {image} ThanksIgnored
DislikedStrong Inflation Numbers out of the US {image} This is in line with the fed moving towards their 2% inflation target which is increases likely hood of rate hikes coming. They previously mentioned they are watching this closely in the Fed's last statement. These numbers are really interested particularly when looking at the Aussie. It has recently been trending up nicely all month but looks to be a bit over exhausted. Depending on what the employment numbers look like, we could see a sharp correct downward. Bad Aussie employment data combined with...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Good thread!! Many traders rely on Technicals alone as it is shortcut mentalities whilst real traders understand that macro-economics drive exchange rates. I do want to raise two questions here: 1) Do you just guess what a news release will be like in the case of the Aussie employment data or do you have a methodology to establish what it may be? 2) In my own experience, sometimes news releases and market movement seem counter-intuitive; Like the case of the RBA cutting rates last year Aug which drove the AUDUSD higher... what am I missing...Ignored
DislikedPairs & Crosses Do you know the difference between a pair and cross? I know I didnt for a long time. GBPUSD and USDJPY are pairs, and GBPJPY is a cross. GBPJPY was created so English traders would no longer need to exchange their pounds for dollars in order to purchase some yen. This isnt anything crazy or shocking so why am I bringing it? Well, the reason I care about it and find it important to briefly bring it up is for hedging. I personally do not use stops and just hedge in worst case scenarios. This is when you somehow get on the wrong side...Ignored
