Having looked at your trades in more details this weekend, I must say very accurate timing of directional change on Gold. and a lots of courage. I can never handle these drawdowns psychologically.. I see that you start to switch into buy mode since 2016 December Christmas (around 1130). When you have time, would you mind sharing a bit on the reasons behind these buy trades? e.g., foundamental etc. Because I really cannot see anything at 1130 that would make me decide to buy in December.

To be more precise, i switched to buy gold around 20th Dec.
Actually at that time, i did believe USD is Overbought, USD was so strong at that time but only just because Trump won.
But i don't think Trump want strong USD given he want to improve the competitiveness of US exports.
So that's a good chance to short USD, and the most suitable pair must be XAUUSD, since EUR GBP are both facing their own problems.
But why i was so confident at that time is also because i noticed strong support at 1127.
And from 1336 on 9th Nov to 1122 on 15th Dec, that's too quick and not even had a good rebound!
Given all these, i tried to to buy and keep buying

P.S. i am having short positions now, but i still believe Gold is going up in the long-term

yeah I see these short positions. I expect gold to be rangy to bullish next week. Maybe more likely to be rangy..

Hey 90strader,

Quite a rangy day today on gold so far. No major news as well. I don't know how to look at intermarket correlation from JPY, GBP and EUR to tell the direction of gold, and am very interested. Would you mind teaching me some tips how to do that? Why are you confident that gold will drop further based on how other pairs behave?

at that time, USDJPY and EURUSD both tested SMA 50 in H1 and turned around
GOLD also cannot breakthrough SMA 50 in H1 too.
so i think USDJPY should go up and EURUSD should go down in hours time = USD strong (if you see USDX, it also tested SMA 50 in H1 too)
i really love SMA 50, simple but so powerful

well...
I had the correct direction but also had the worst exit timing tonight
two times in a row after i closed some positions, it breakthrough again (maybe the third time coming now)
it is always my weakness on exit (especially when i am winning)
as i always try to seal some profits first... i don't know if this is good or bad habit
i really need yours advice on this

and now we are at the important support 1220.3,
simple situation, if breakthrough it will be very hard, if not it will rebound real quick
but i will stay away because i am really sleepy now

because i can at least double my profits today if i close all my short at 1220
of course i know no one can sell at the highest and buy at the lowest every time
but those closing at 1228.8 and 1226 are just not good enough
