Hi Landline,

We don't drive, as Zwara says, we are just passengers we need to be on the same bus as the Smart Money.

Support is caused by a Level of Buy Orders the reason the Market returns to these Levels of Support is because not all the Buy Orders get filled first time.

Resistance is caused by a Level of Sell Orders the reason the Market returns to these Levels of Resistance is because not all the Sell Orders get filled first time.

The reason the Market keeps seeking out these Levels of Buy and Sell Orders is because of the Zero Sum Market.

When you enter a Trade ask yourself who is taking the other side of your Trade because if you are not Trading along side Smart Money you will lose in the long term.

You can't Trade with them if you don't understand how they operate.

Once you understand how they operate you can Trade as simply as you want.

How you trade is you your business, I'm not disputing that.

My trades are effective, efficient and simple and most importantly, profitable! with no fuss and certainly no fancy expressions that you are so keen on, (which was my original point if you recall) and which is evident from any trades I've posted, ie clear and precise with no ambiguity. Your complex explanations has at least now revealed that it is as a result of your training...oh boy oh boy!...lol

Ok fair enough if its steves training....full respect to steve for what he has learned.
Landline...please show us your easier way of charts and descriptions just like steve has done to explain what you see etc in accordance to how you were trained

Respect to whatever you do, and hopefully you will respect stevepatt too. Please note this is a Journal Thread, not a Trading Discussion thread. To me, that means you should be commenting to productive analysis of whatever he is journaling. So, if you have nothing valuable to say, then you should not say it. People who want criticism and evaluation and brainstorming open their threads in another section of FF. I hope you understand the difference.

As for stevepatt, if you want to have comments during your analysis, then move this to the Trading Discussion thread. Otherwise, I think journals are supposed to be more private and used for record keeping and talking to your friends. Since there are no "private" rooms in FF, I view Journals as the closest thing to a private room.

Hi dkrock,

I Journal my Trades because I want a record to look back on in the future to see how my Trading develops.

If it helps others on the way that's great and if others have an issue with my terminology that's okay too.

I must admit, I do think, the terminology I'm using is pretty mainstream and nothing fancy.

More times than not once I enter a Trade I let it run it's course within out interference.

Let's see where we are from the GJ 4hr live swing trade I posted earlier in the week.

I have taken 80% from the initial position now, and that equity has now enabled a 2nd position added. My criteria of how pa, s & r levels and averages is shaping up are fulfilled to do so. My targets and stops are adjusted, but I can't say how this will finally all play out, but I can say that there will be only 2 possible outcomes now if I do nothing else.

a) Make profit
b) Make more profit

The effect of compounding, whereby I am using profit made to fund the 2nd position is easier of course and more practical on higher t/fs, and requires a level of patience, which is often the downfall of many traders who are too keen to close out positions instead of capitalising when the opportunity arises (which happens to be in this trade I'm showing)

I realise that is not everyone's cup of tea, but to become an aspiring swing trader, then those opportunities will need to be grasped at some stage to be successful.

Anyway, we will see how the attached trade eventually pans out in time.

Incidentally, at this stage of the week, I would think that low t/f trading, 5 mins etc, is fraught with risk and probably stress too, but as you can see, my style is unaffected by small market moves which are likely right now, which tend to bump you in and out of set-ups, along with the need to be glued to the screen!

Trading does not need to be complicated with unnecessary analysis which is more likely to confuse rather than help.

Keep it as simple as possible and address only the information that matters in order to make a valid trading decision. Ignore whatever anyone else is doing because statistics prove that the majority are simply wrong or/and their systems are overly complex. Drop the oscillators is my immediate advice for you and get back to using the real information via the main window. You should need no more than 4 perhaps 5 pieces of information to make an informed decision for yourself, any more than that, then you enter the realms of confusion, which is the blight of the majority imo.

One of the keys to successful and consistent trading is doing the same thing day in day out, that is once you have identified what is important to make a decision, which is something I asked you previously I recall. If that step, (which is the most important if tackled properly , and only then will it become the bedrock of your own decision making) is not carefully considered in the first instance, then confident decisions in direction cannot be made.

Summarising, look at some of my charts if you like, they are not complicated to me, and contain only what I need. Figure out ONLY what is important to YOU, (no one else matters), you already know that price is important, but think about how you can use the price information to your advantage, using just a few easy to read tools such as ma's as an example or whatever you are familiar with already. BUT....keep it simple.

Study what I've said very carefully, then decide how to approach it. I've had a very good week personally once again, using the principles that I've described, and there's no reason you or anyone else cannot do the same....without the stress!

I'm bailing out now, hope it's helped you a little...g/l
