Hello there,
Still not ready to contribute with my trading plans (I'm getting there soon I hope), but today I wanted to share the excel I created a while ago for discipline, money management, size calculator & keeping track of my operations.
It was designed for euro trading accounts but now I made it multi-currency and I translated it to english. I think it can help discipline of other traders because it has features like automatic cell color change to red if your % of risk is above 2.3% for example.
Keep in mind this template comes from the template used in my own system, so it was prepared to use more pairs (which I deleted), use of pending orders (I kept the pending orders calculator for now just in case it's useful to somebody), and make more operations per day.
Those "extra" operations per day I made them red for the Paradox, indicating those operations can't be taken in your daily trading plan as you are exceeding the maximum of one operation per day, but for example if you are making positioning trading at once they could be useful, as they are fully functional also (they have working hyperlinks too).
When you open it, you have to set the PIP value in your currency (link providen inside), I do it once per month, as this excel is a month template and the whole folder should be copied before starting to be used every month, and renaming it for example "February". Then, you use the green input to indicate your initial balance that month (Green cells are inputs, yellow cells are outputs) and the excel is ready to go.
First you go to the week, in this case you should go to Week 2 because the month is started already, and there it appears the week day you are in, you fill the green cells with the BUY/SELL and the %of risk desired, and it will give you the Lot size required and the money risked in your currency. Then, when an operation ends, you just write the result in "pips made", with a minus if it was a loss, and it will change colors accordingly, and will auto fill weekly and monthly stats.
You can write comments also, and when opening an operation, you can take a picture and save it in the "imágenes" folder as png, with the number next to the day, for example in Week2, friday, should be saved as "64a" without commas when opening an operation and "64b" when closing it. Then in the excel, when you click the A and L columns for that day's line, excel will open the picture saved in that folder for you (had to use many blank images that need to be overwritten everytime you save because of troubles with the macros required for excel to create a image "on the fly", sorry).
In the future I plan to modify it somehow and include hyperlinks to daily trading plans, but I'm really busy right now studying the Paradox, so if Dana agrees on this, expect this in the future. I wait for your feedback guys.
Posible troubles: It has features that aren't too used with Dana's method like, if you want to risk 2% of 1000 in one operation and while that operation is opened you wish to open another one, it auto understands that your "usable" balance is 980 for the second operation, no matter your current equity until you close an operation in profit/loss. (Will teach you guys how to use this if somebody needs, is very easy).
So it uses some functions, which I wrote in Spanish because my excel is set to Spanish. That could maybe cause troubles with other languages, because funtions change, for example "IF" function is "SI" in my case, if it has troubles please tell me and I'll try to fix it, this is a first iteration to gather opinions and improve it adapting it completely to the Paradox for us all.
Also, maybe it won't work properly for excel 97 and previous versions, but perhaps I could overcome this trouble by saving it in that compatible format, if anyone requires it, tell me and we will see if it works properly.
Important: If Dana doesn't agree with the use of this excel or any of its modifications then I will delete the link and will advice anyone against using it, just trying to help with the Paradox and the required discipline/order to become a succesful trader.
Thank you all in advance, cheers.
