I would like to ask for help from MT4 users, excuse me if I am asking something irrelevant.

I started programming experts in MQL4 some months ago and I am curious about the opinions of experienced MT4 users that what do you think about strategy tester module in the platform?

I am not satisfied with it, because it is slow (takes much time to test the strategies I am programming), there is no possibility to test multiple FX pairs and the optimization is also very slow in my opinion.

Does anybody know other alternatives for backtesting strategies in fast and efficient way?

It’s possible. I am using a broker different from yours, my spread for this pair oscilates between 2-3 pips. Keep in mind that with some (most?) brokers the spread widens when there’s high volatility.

Yes, the beginners first of all have to focus on learning process but practically most of them try to make money from this market place without learning. As a result they become loser when trading practically. So it would be better if we the beginners if we learn first before earning.

there is Beginners Boot camp where multiples threads are available about beginner’s questions. I think it is better than pips school.

Both are very suitable for the new Forex traders as a great learning place , beginners can take these places for leaning and besides this they can take demo account for practicing. It will be great I think .

I had a question that I have not seen an answer to I was wondering if I could put it to you folks. I apologize if the answer has already been posted and I have missed it. I have tried to search the forum and found some related information here (https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...et#post9279568), but I was wondering if there was some more specific method.

I was wondering if there was a way of determining what type of Market currently exists.

I have read there is approximately six different types of markets. I have also read that no trading strategy works across all types of markets. I have worked out a strategy that currently works for me over last year and this year, but if I look back to 2006 for example it does not work, so clearly the markets and how effective a particular strategy is changes over time.

So I was wondering if there is a way to determine what type of market we are in currently (or at any other given time) other than simply looking at a chart and thinking, oh yeah, that looks like it is trending up. Is there a way of actually calculating specific market type?

I would like to do this so I can understand and associate any strategy that I create or examine with which types of markets that strategy works under. That way over time I can develop a set of tools that I can use whenever the appropriate market develops.

Yes beginners have to focus on study first of all. But besides studies they have to practice trading in lively, otherwise any good studies will not work at all.

One can practice, initially at least, on a demo account. I think it is even adviseable to do so before moving onto a live account, at least until you learn the basics and the software.

great site, demo account for as short a time as possible, then micro accounts.

Maturity is one way of putting it. Good trading requires discipline, knowledge and experience, and those are a product of maturity, I suppose.
