Disliked{quote} Try going to Tools>Options>Charts and have a look at Max bars in chart. I have mine set to 5000. Think you have to close MT4 and reopen for it to come into effect.Ignored
- Check how many chart windows are open on the platform, as too many of these could slow down the system.
č Please note that there is no limitation on how many chart windows can be kept open. However the more you keep active, the more it affects the speed of the platform. - The number of Indicators and Expert advisors active on the platform will also have an impact on the speed of your MT4, please try deleting some of them.
- If you go to Tools > Options > Charts > you will find the boxes ‘Max. bars in history’ and ‘Max. bars in chart’.
Try narrowing down the amount of bars to a lower level (for example 5000 or less).
č this step depends very much on your analysing strategy and how far back in history you would like to go. However, the more bars are active, the more space it requires, which can affect the speed over time.
- If you go to File > Open Data Folder, a little pop-up window will appear. It displays the different sub-folders of the MT4 platform. One of them is the History folder.
By deleting this folder and restarting the platform, you will free up some necessary space.
