Polomine's VSA indicators

Hi All,

Many thanks to Polomine for his indicators dedicated to VSA. I thought if he spent time building these tools and sharing them with the community, it's only fair I'd spend some time looking at it. And I have.

I was really excited when I found Polomine's post at with his latest VSA template and indicators[/url], because I just started testing the VSA principles, and this template and indicators came in very handy. I've been testing it since last week and I have a couple of questions I can't figure out by myself. Can you give me a hand?

Once I get the correct answer for each one of my queries, I'll update the 2 following posts with the correct information so everyone can use the indicators properly.

For a matter of completeness, find the 2 indicators and the template attached below. I am NOT the author of these tools. Polomine is and the credit is all his. I'm just trying to learn how to use his tools.

iPolo - BarBundles v1.5

### The input parameters for Bars ###

--- Main Setting ---

 

1. 01.NumberOfBundles: 500 - number of bars displayed on the chart. If you zoom out enough you will see the total amount of bars being drawn.
2. 02.UpColor: MidnightBlue - You can change this to whatever color you want, HOWEVER it will only change the closing tick, NOT the bar, on up bars. How is it possible to change the color of the whole bar, not just the close tick?
3. 03.DownColor: Maroon - same behaviour as above for down bars.
4. 04.LevelColor: Black - same behaviour as above for same level bars.
5. 05.ClosePriceWidth: 2 - width of close tick. Default is 2, see on the example below the same input with value 10.

- for fixed bundling What is fixed bundling?

 

1. 06.StartHour: 16 - Have no idea on what this parameter does. I changed it from 0 to 24 and noticed no difference on the chart, regardless the timeframe What is this parameter for, what values are accepted and how do you use it?
2. 07.StartMinute: 0 - For example, let's say your chart opened at 14:00 on H1. It looks like if you put numbers from 0 to 29, it will present the chart commencing on the 00 time, in this case 14:00. If you put numbers from 30 to 59 it changes the chart to 13:30. The same logic seems to apply to other timeframes. If on M10, say at 14:10, numbers from 0 to 4 it will display 14:10, but numbers 5 to 9 will display 14:05.What is this parameter for, what values are accepted and how do you use it?

- for dynamic bundling What is dynamic bundling?

 

1. 08.DynamicBundle: false - I don't notice any change on the chart after setting this input to "true" except that there is an asterix on the bar opening time and that the bar opening time goes back 1/2 the timeframe you're looking at. For example, if on M10, with the bar opening at 10:10, it will display 10:05. If on H1 with the bar opening at 14:00, it will display 13:30. What is this parameter for, what values are accepted and how do you use it?
2. 09.StartBarIndex: 0 - Again a mystery. When I fiddle with it, it helps me adjusting the time. For example, if I'm on H1 with the bar starting at 14:00 but the timer on the upper right corner is displaying 13:30, by changing it to 0 or 1 (or any other number greater than 1) it puts it back to 14:00. What is this parameter for, what values are accepted and how do you use it?

- only effective when BundleSize equals zero.

1. 10.BundleSize: 0 - Looks like this is a boolean value to activate or deactivate the next 9 parameters. Is this correct?
2. 11.M1_BundleSize: 3 - This is one of the cleverest and useful features of this indicator after drawing the bar Tradeguider style. This parameter allows the user to change the timeframe values assigned to the default Metatrader timeframe buttons. The number in front of the parameter name is multiplied by the original timeframe assigned to the button, allowing the user to control the chart displays timeframes at a very granular level. For example, M1. If you put the number 3 there, it multiplies 1M by 3, and now the timeframe for the M1 button on Metatrader is in reality M3. Awesomeness! There is, however, an issue with it. If you change the M1 value to 15, for example, it starts messing the bars styles. The higher the number, the more screwed up the design style gets. Is there a way to keep the design style consistent?

1. 20.DisplayLegend: true - Displays or hides the legend. False = Hide, True = Display
2. 21.CornerIndex: 1 - Corner to display legend. 1 = Upper right corner, 2 = Lower left corner, 3 = Lower right corner, 4 = Upper left corner
3. 22.CountDownTimer: true - Display time left to candle close or time elapsed since candle open. True = Time left to candle close, False = Time elapsed since candle open
4. 23.LegendColor: Navy - Allows you to change the legend color
5. 24.TimerColor: Gold - Allows you to change the timer color
6. 25.LogoFontSize: 10 - Changes the font size of the text saying "iPolo - BarBundles v1.5"
7. 26.TimeframeFontSize: 16 - Changes the font size of the text like M1, M5, H1, D1, etc.
8. 27.ClockFontSize: 8 - Changes the font size of the bar opening time, for example, 14:00
9. 28.TimerFontSize: 10 - Changes the font size of the timer, for example, -3:56

iPolo - VolumeBundles v1.5

### The input parameters for Volume Bars ###

--- Main Setting ---

 

1. 01.NumberOfBundles: 500 - number of bars displayed on the volume chart. If you zoom out enough you will see the total amount of bars being drawn.
2. 02.TGVolumeStyle: false - I have no idea on what TG Volume Style means... It changes the colors on the volume chart. Currently, from what I can see, Blue indicates volume greater than the previous candle, Red denotes less volume than the previous candle and Yellow indicates less volume than the previous 2 candles (good for no supply or no demand). Are my color codes correct? Do you know what TG Volume Style means? If yes, what is the current (default) style?

--- Bar Volume Setting ---

 

1. 28.DisplayBarVolumes: false - Not really sure on what the overlay with the volumes is for. Is this the "original" volumes as displayed on the Metatrader standard template? If yes, how are the volumes on the iPolo template calculated? I've also noticed that the volumes seem to be relative to the day's activity. Is this correct? Since VSA is volume based, it's essential to understand how volume works on this indicator!

Another issue with these indicators is it hides the close tick during the first 30 minutes on the 1H timeframe. Any idea on how to fix this?

Last (I hope) but not the least, does anyone have the mq4 files for these indicators?

Does anyone have the .mq4 file? I wanted to tweak the code to make the closes a little bit shorter so the bars don´t look glued to each other.

dquelhas, in post #2 you posted a screenshot where the closes do not touch the next bar, how did you do that? I try all parameters but the close is always touching the next bar, even you zoom in max.
