{quote} I've been further thinking about the time problem. Because there are the three times (local, broker, GMT), in my function for checking the time is probably a mistake. I have to test further to find an explanation. If that happens again, please post an exact description which were the settings, which the local and which the broker time. I guess that must be around the midnight time.

Hmmm...you're thinking about the couple of times when the EA went off outside of the posted times that were set right?

If you post erroneous orders, it is easier for me to find a solution.

I've started testing smHiLO DashBoard EA_v2.3. The EA did some weird stuff at first like not setting TP and SL so my results today got skewed (it's over 100 pips but I've been playing around with settings). When I started up the EA, it created hundreds of buy and sell stops that got deleted as they were created so I don't know if that is standard. I would like to suggest one thing as we test moving forward. I'd like to use the same time frames for testing as the smCSReverse EAs default time frames. I'd also like some guidance on whether we use limit orders, stop orders or market/pending orders (I'm running automatic for this exercise). I'll keep everything else out of the box unless someone comes up with something major. Everyone's input is greatly appreciated..tnx.

Hi,

the big problem for me is the time.
I wrote the HiLO EA seven months ago and no one has tested it properly.
My tests have not convinced me and has programmed now other things. Reheating the cold soups is psychologically heavy for me.

I would like to post something new in the next time and if now I have to invest again time for improvements but without great interest, I would have finished the new system only in 1-2 months.

What I can say is that HiLO EA and Reverse EA can be improved in automatic mode, but my interest for it is very low.
When I see that results are posting I will perhaps still make small changes.

I see the time problem arise under the following conditions:
Broker time is GMT+2
Broker day equals GMT day +1.

Therefore whilst broker day is ahead of GMT (for the two hours) I get skull and cross bones and am unable to trade (markets are usually quiet and not much opportunity anyway).

Settings are 00:00 - 24:00 ( I have tried 02:00-24:00, 00:00-22:00, 00:00-26:00) all tests were unable to activate trading during hours 22:00 to 24:00 GMT. This is the time the broker clock says 00:00 to 02:00 (one day ahead of GMT)

Changing local time and/or regional GMT offset had no effect.

Can someone else please confirm??

I'm not sure how SM programed the clocks, but I'm not sure 24:00 is a legitimate setting and I'm pretty sure 26:00 is not. Did you try using 23:59 instead?

Or, to be on the safe side, 00:01 to 23:59. If 00:00 is a valid time, statistically, the chance of missing a trade that kicks off at that time is very small

An initial assessment according to the tests:

to set the daily end time "24:00" is false!

Please use only 23:59!
Metatrader does not interprete the hour time "24:00" as last trading hour and take "23:00"...

I cant understand what SL/TP settings are used in Automatic mode? It looks like ATR-based ones, not the ones from Fixed Parametrs.

I am having a little problem with smHILO Dashboard 2.3 that I hope you may be able to advise on?
Everything works as it should except the stop orders.
The expiry date is for the exact same time as when sent but also for around 10 days in the future!
I have changed inputs to various amounts including default mins of 60.
I have changed vps clock and date.
Neither of these made any difference.
Hope you may be able to enlighten me.
