here is another suggestion, when u get signal to buy for ex.put your sl just below the lowest low+spread before the 365×200 crossed. than move sl to 1:1 when position goes to 2:1 after that exit is up to you. this way you can furthet filter bad trades. but i dont reccomend just using 20 pips sl and 100 tp all the time for all pairs.

This system does a SIMPLE thing that many do not.
It takes market traps in a visually easy way.
We avoid losing money in situations like this!

Current status of trade...Now negative....Just left trades opened hoping that my trade manager EA will breakeven at 40pips and Take profit at 100pips based on intial strategy rules but trade never reached 40pips to breakeven..Its one thing to enter a trade and another to manage it properly..Maybe the profit target for this system is too large..I dont know but we need to backtest this strategy and optimize for the most appropriate stop loss and take profit levels....If anyone can backtest this strategy will the CCI indicator coded by lokopata and optimize it for the profitable stop loss and take profit levels , please do and share results here so that we can discuss it..Thank you.

Hi All I am interested in and trade mostly on a 1 minute chart for entry and exit. With that said, may I humbly make some suggestions for your strategy. I do think based solely on my style of trading that you are thinking in the correct direction.

 

  1. Consider the fractal nature of the market. While the H4 is making higher highs and higher lows the H1 at some point is in a down trend that is a retracement of the H4 uptrend. In the H1 downtrend the M15 is in an uptrend that forms the retracement of the H1 down trend, and so on and so on and so on. The point is that your entry should be at the reversal of the smaller timeframe in the direction of the overal larger timeframe that you wish to trade.
  2. I love ema crosses and use them exclusivily with that said, if you wait for emas to cross you are very late on your entry. Emas are generated by the closing of a candle, assuming you selected close and not something else, and so the price has to move to create the average movement. I use a 5ema and an 8ema and something I call a projection to anticipate price turning not waiting for the averages to cross. When they cross it is confirmation that I am now in the market in the correct direction not an entry signal.
  3. I am inlove with the idea of making 100 pips consistantly but in my experience, and I have done it a few times, it is much eaiser on my sleep patterns, family life, social life, pyschology and so on to grab four 25+ pip trades to make my 100.
  4. Study the time of day that new money comes into the market. Session changeover, London to NY, London open and close, economic retorts and also central bank speeches. Be prepaired to anticipate your averages to make a turn at specific times. I have done it also, stared at the screen until my eyes bleed, set alarms with the intention of getting up in the middle of the night but in the end a proper analysis of price action followed up with a proper plan so that you know what to do when you get the signal is imperative.

Good observation buddy..As i stated in my earlier post we need to implement logical stops like ATR , parabolic , chandelier stops etc but I dont know how whether these stop levels are reliable on 1 minute chart..Doy you have any idea?If you do please share.

Is it possible to code an indicator like(screenshot attached) to visually backtest this strategy and auto optimize it for the best performance?I hope xux99 wouldnt mind me posting his indicator here...This indicator measures its own signals tick by tick and displays results on screen.It also optimizes its own signals for best performance.How lovely..Xux99 is a genius coder to have coded an amazing tool like this...Such a beauty...What do you think guys and gals?This strategy has potential..We just need to find the optimal settings for the system for better performance.
NB:Screenshot shows what the indicator displays after backtest but we dont need all of that..We only need a few of them.

I agree with you lokopata..Your CCI indicator coded by you does a good job at filtering false signals but sometimes it appears late when the trend has moved quite significantly.We would have to look into that.This indicator wouldnt have been possible without your coding skills contribution to this thread.Keep it up man

Yes a backtest with such an indicator would be great.

The more we can work using the price ACTION.

Position now positive..100pip moves dont usually happen less than 24 hours..It could take 24 hours or even 48 hours or even more to collect 100pips..I guess I have to play the waiting game then..Its either my stop loss get hit or my 100 pips target gets hit..Win or lose who cares?At the end of the day what matters is positive net pips..

i think that 100 pips for 1minute time frame it's really hard to achieve.....or better why look at 1min tf for this kind of profit? usually 1m is good for scalping... only
Looking at the all USD charts today seems cci filter it's not so good.... entries are too late...

Hi Forexpinbar,

I have found it much more profitable to spend as little time as possible exposed to the Market.

It is much better to take three Trades of thirty Pips each than one Trade of ninety Pips.

I only Trade GBP/JPY mostly on M5 this provides more than enough opportunities to Trade.

By only Trading one pair you get to know how it moves and what to expect from each Swing.

Make sure Market Structure is in line with your Trade direction.

I find the CCI Indicator can get you into Trades far to late it's much better to wait for a PullBack to enter.

Leaving M1 Trades open for 24 or 48 hours isn't realistic.

Remember each pair will have different Swing Expectancies and ATRs

Yes, that's right but it's also down to how Clean the Price Action is as a New Swing Develops.
