Only a cross below the 200 and 365 would have saved you but how would you know? win some you lose some I think. You gave the same example but with an earlier entry, but even that would have stopped you out of 20 pips, only a bigger stop..

Almo CCI in action..Look at how this indicator filtered these false signals.Great for filtering..Helps to wait for the right setup like a sniper..Good job Almo and lokopota for your valuable ideas and contribution.

Hi ForexPinbar and all of you.
As someone with extensive experience using MA strategies, with your permission I would like to make a suggestion. try experimenting with channels formed by the same EA's used by you, but applied to price high and low instead of close. For example: instead of using a simple crossover between, say, 365 and 21 MA (ma's applied to close), try crossing 21 (applied to close) with a channel formed by 365 ma applied to high and 365 applied to low. When the channel is pierced upwards, it's a buy signal, when downwards you have a short signal.
You should notice that this filters out many of the range signals, leaving you with less, more "late" but better signals overall. during consolidations, the fast MA tends to get "stuck" in the channel and gives no signals at all, instead of giving many many crosses.
I tried many years MA crosses (including the rainbow template, which I still find great), and never found any "ideal" combination, due to the inherent fault of the MA of crossing a lot (with false signals) in times of consolidation. This is also why my EAs never worked in the long run with simple crossovers. Of course I never used 1min MA's extensively (mine are M5 and higher) but it should work all the same.
For over 2 years now I use a channel, and I am finally able to filter out much of the noise, with a great positive impact on my trading. My ma's are slightly higher, but the principle is the same, and I think you may find this very good once you see how it works.
I am suggesting this since your system is still young, and as I understand you're looking for ways to improve it. This is the result of over 6 years' play with MA's, hope it will be useful for you.

Yes win some lose some i suppose..We cant win all the time.But when our wins in terms of pips are more than our losses we stand a chance to be consistently profitable in the long run.I know about ATR stops , parabolic stops , chandelier stops etc but I havent tried them on the 1 minute chart and dont know whether they are reliable on lower TF thats why I have been using a provisional stop loss of 20 pips for this strategy..But anyone who has ideas on how to incorporate the mentioned technical stop levels should kindly contribute to the thread.

Great job lokopata..Your contribution to this thread is much appreciated..Is it possible to backtest this strategy with the CCI settings and optimize it so that we can demo test with optimal settings from backtest and compare both results?
