I think the best way is to let every trade to hit TP or SL. In ranging market it should give us less pips on the loss side until we catch a trend finally.

Choppy market kills any trend following 1min strategy, that's an unfortunate truth. I don't want to sound negative, I really tried to have a working 1min system but it the long term it just wouldn't work. At one moment you get so many false signals during the choppy day when price just bounces from one range to another, that it might kill your weekly gain so I would definitely recommend a sort-of filter to filter out wrong ones or switch to higher TF. Just dividing your values by 5 and get on 5M can help filtering out wrong signals.

Of course we need a filter to filter out the false signals in ranging markets but until we find one we will continue trading all signals..Any suggestion is welcomed..Our buddy suggested CCI filter here http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...99#post9450899 .Please test and post results , suggestions , criticisms , whatever we need to make this system better.

Unfortunately I have not tested the system on crude oil...But you can test it and see for yourself because I also started testing this system recently and it seems to work quite well on USD pairs that is why I opened this thread to share ideas and optimize this system.

I'll be honest, I haven't found anything which could filter out bad trades on 1Min. Maybe mt4 default ADX and not trade when below certain value but it also filters out quite a bit of good signals. Every other indi showed either late signals or early with plenty of fakes. Even running an Indi with lets say value 100 on 1Min and the same one with value 20 on 5M yields often different results and fake signals on 1M which wouldn't occur on 5M so the best filter to me was always higher TF.

Yes ADX could come in handy..I found this indicator on FF that I think might be useful...

For now, I need you to consider the FACT that it can actually be harmful to your trading psychology and thus to your overall trading performance to focus too much on win percentages and whether or not you were “right” about your last trade(s). Trading is one of the few professions where you can be a net loser and still make a lot of money…thus, winning and losing percentages are almost totally irrelevant in the trading world...."NIAL FULLER"

Nial Fuller only trades daily candles and h4. He will tell you 1 min charts is like taking lambs to the slaughter..

no disrespect, but this strategy in its current form is a looser (see EA graph attached).
November 2016, 24/5 trading. Tried it with 9:00 to 18:00 - no huge difference....
Tried other months too, roughly the same picture.
Note: I did not use 200 EMA, just 365/21/8 (EA only handles 3 MA), but it does not make a big difference if the 200 EMA is there or not.

You have far more 20 pips losses then the odd 100 pip win or the wins created with trailing stop.

Moving average system are great, but they kill in a ranging market. Maybe you use other considerations when entering a trade?

Welcome on board Silicus and thanks for your criticism..That is what we need to make this system better..That is why we are all here in the first place , to share and learn..This strategy is still raw and we are still trying to find a filter to weed out the false signals in ranging markets.I suggest you backtest with CCI settings filter suggested by Almo on this post http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...=9450899#reply and post back results..If possible run an optimization for the best settings so that we can all test in demo account and compare the results to the optimization results from backtest and improve the strategy..
