Tips for an uninspired trader?

Hi guys, while I'm motivated to trade and currently still do, I find my trading uninspired. I don't feel like I have a direction as a result of not having a solid strategy to follow over and over again. I'm just trying to find my way again but it's taking a rather long time. Does anyone have any tips or experiences like my own to share?

If people spent just half as much time getting stuck into their work rather than watching another crappy motivational video or reading another 101 clichéd motivational quotes they'd be surprised just how successful they become.
Road To Wisdom? To err and err and err again, but less and less and less...

On the psychological level you have to love what you do, you have to love this business of speculation. You may not like this forex instrument, change it to the one you have strong passion for.

What's long time for you? It took 6 years for me only to discover an edge, plus 2 years to mature emotionally to be disciplined and constant.

Too true. This is why I always say having a good edge/strategy/trade plan is not enough because you need to be able to apply that in real-time trading. It could easily be argued that the successful application in real-time trading is actually the hardest part of learning to trade.

I am too in this business about 5 years before 3 years in stocks but don't know what to do.
It's a long journey to become able to trade with confidence and some cases...with profitability.
First two years don't know what to do Trade against market wish trading etc all b.s. then I realized some thing (edge) to take care of my problems. Story not end this is 3 rd year but I am not fully able to execution of trade plan with consistency.
So nice topic anyway..

The motivational videos are not crap.
They help to create and reinforce something called: Willpower

Like music, meditation, among other ways.

Use your trades as bullets. Before entry, be sure to analyse that how many bullets you can afford and how much each bullet will cost you. The image below can be a good guide for you.

The advantages of this type of trade distribution are huge. Starting from profits multiplication, risk distribution, more decision time, ability to recover earlier loosing trades. But the downside of this technique is this that "You Should be highly disciplined as trader. Otherwise ....".

patience and discipline and profit, read failure stories and learn how trades done mistakes and compare those mistakes with yourself then you will be motivated

Go look at 100 charts, any time period.

Look for the really big moves, then look at the previous 1-20 bars to see if before the big moves the same sort of thing happened.

Then look at 100 more until you start to understand how and why markets move big.

Then another 100 and so on.

Figure out what type of trading you prefer – swing, intraday, long-term trading? Figure out what kind of instruments you like best to trade on. Look for strategies that fit those preferences.

search one method.
Practice it numerous time.
Throw what not work around that method, improve what it is work.

To me, Support & Resistance works the best

Any trader can build a dynamite trading strategy from utilising the infamous 7th Law - Dramatic price movements tend to unfold from price structures that minimise participation.

So again, look at 100+ charts, look for the good moves, what happened before? Chances are it's the 7th Law at work...

That is a great advice. I would also add to test a strategy over a long period of time. See whether it works in different circumstances, and if not whether you can fix it. Don’t be afraid to move onto new things if something doesn’t work.

Forex is not a trade where you make ten winning trades consecutively especially when you are not scalping. Of course one in a while you may lose, or even lose much more. But the strength to pick yourself up after a loss; boldly looking back to examine the loss and where you went wrong so as to better the next trade.
