I use pending orders to trade Dale's levels, but I don't just leave them there and forget about it (tried that before). I do this because I might sometimes miss the exact moment when the level is hit, so I just place the pending order and check the charts every now and then. Just make sure to keep an eye at least on the thread, usually you will know when it's a good time to remove the pending orders (ie: people will say if the level was just tested). Also keep an eye on the calendar for any red news. Trading these levels takes at least some dedication.

I would say that limits should be profitable as long as you cancell before red macro news. 2nd tests arent that dangerous as red macro news.

Just curious how much time do you like to see pass for new levels to be valid in your eyes? For example during much of the London session have the profile develop and look to trade into the US session.

Still valid but news soon. Turned 2.5 pips before level but as of this post has only moved 6.8

I guess we all remember the $ taking off after the Dec FOMC mtg, the post above was the next day levels. I remember many times seeing question regarding how long are the levels valid for, and the basic answer is until they are either touched or tested close by, although of course the more time that passes the more the market is digesting new info etc. Well here is a not too shabby response on the usdcad from that 15 Dec level

Just curious if anyone is doing this on a larger time frame basis what the results have been? For myself intra-day is working like a champ, would like to explore longer time frames (daily) and see if the dynamics are similar.

I don't imagine that this is really the case in the spot UsdEur market, but in answer to the general question - it is most certainly possible, if big players in the futures market are looking for liquidity, and know that others are looking in the same zone, they won't be at all afraid to put their nose in the trough first. Whilst the spot market is huge there is a close relationship with futures....... but do I really think that has happened here, nope
