I find it annoying when traders think their way is the only way to trade. I may be a newb but you only need eyeballs to realize there are infinite ways to trade. THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAY AS LONG AS IT MAKES YOU MONEY. I look at it more as an art than a science... After trying many systems I finally found one that works for me. I call it 'Dynamic Range Trading'. Ive altered it to not use HARD STOPS but instead my SL and TP are always the same... at the opposite end of the range. That may be in profit or loss it doesnt matter, once it reaches the other end Im out. And of course the range changes based on market conditions. It works for me and thats all that matters. So if stop losses work for you SWEET, but there are other ways!

Trading without a stop loss do not will not succeed in running any forex trading, because it will fear for the price reversal is not required. For that I always put a stop loss at the time of the open position

Depends on your style, I trade tick chart, I am in and out in a matter of seconds sometimes minutes, constantly monitoring the trade, if it turns you simply get out. Nothing but market orders. If you trade longer time frames then yes a stop is highly advised just my .02 though

I'm brand new to fx trading and this website so I can't create a new thread with my question. I think this topic is pretty close to my question but if not then I'm sorry about the derail.

I didn't realize the time on Friday and didn't close out my position on time. I also do not have a SL or TP set. I'm using "Think or Swim"... I didn't spend too much time on a demo account because I have a tough time learning when there's no risk. I tried it for a few days and leveraged this shit out of every trade knowing there was no downside.

Anyways, this is probably pretty irresponsible trading but I have a total 8k USD forex account and have 2 lots of EUR/USD and 1 lot of USD/JPY. How can I minimize my risk @ market open? I'm in California so I'll definitely be awake when it opens @ 11PM PST tonight (I hope I have the time right...)

Thank you,
AA

The problem is that if you don’t know how to place a stop loss properly you’re doing something similar anyway.

This is such a source of confusion but it's rather simple actually,

If you really think you should be using a stop loss then it means you are trading your equity and not the market.

Hi ALL,

Depending your strategy, with SL or without SL as long as the strategy could be making profit .....
Recommended for the higher TF above 1Hrs
Here is one of example H4 GBPUSD without SL ...

1st SELL, 2nd Buy, 3rd SELL = Close 2xSell - 1xBuy ..
4th Buy, 5th Sell 6th Buy = Close 2xBuy - 1Sell
