This is the count I have been working with for a while. I am working on the idea that the 2009 low was wave (b) of wave (iii).

1929 wave a of i
1966 wave c of i
2007 wave a of iii

The only change from Ian's count is that 1929 was a wave a rather than a wave i.

[wasn't sure if the final Wave v of Wave b [Red] had done enough: 33.3%]
Wave c Red now underway?
Should unfold in 5 waves down.
100% projection of Wave a [Red] is 5035.
Need to also lookout for a Triangle.

I'm struggling to find any impulsive moves up since the February low and for that reason I think we are heading for another zigzag lower into the 8000's.

I'll post a few charts to see what I can see.
The Wave iii White is within 1 pip of the 185.4% projection of Wave i White.
[Amazing!]
So I see the Wave iii at 12411, [which agrees with your count]
and have labeled Wave iv at 8696.
After Wave iv White I am just shooting from the hip for the count.
Next I'll take a look at the WLY, from the Wave iv White.

Wave iv retrace could be quite savage,
and complex.

Just for clarity the count I was showing is for a bearish outcome. I'm suggesting that the move up from February has been corrective and that we are due another zig-zag lower.

It's good to have an opposite view.
