Hi Dave, I have been trying out the AgilityTrader3 companion. Could you please explain how to delete a condition. Example - 3 x Buy Exit conditions, how do you delete one of them? Cheers

Dave,
For the life of me I just cannot get any results from backtest on AG2.
All I was trying to do was get results of candle crossing above and closing above 50MA, and opening a buy order. That's it.

Why is it so hard?
Cheers.

The strategy choice "Any Bullish Candle" relates to a Candlestick recognition strategy not a single candle and cannot be used the way you are trying to use it.

The correct strategy is

And in 1 bars Close 0 0 0 0 Greater Than Close 0 0 0 1 (this is a comparision of the last close being greater than the previous close, shift value is 1)
And in 1 bars Close 0 0 0 0 Crosses Above SMA 50 0 0 0

That will give the last closed bullish candle closing above SMA50

Hi Dave,
I seem to have another problem. I would appreciate your help.

I have had this AG3 auto trading for 24hrs, and no trades.
The preset is one of yours so it can't be a mistake in inputs.
Auto trading is enabled, and I have scrolled back quite some time and found many instances of trades that should have been activated.
Could you please shed some light on what may be happening, or not happening. Thanks.

The RSI strategy is based on EURUSD 60mins. You are looking at GBPUSD 1min. That is why I provide the All Black template because the EA can be attached to any chart and as you can see in your case, it has no relevance to the underlying chart.

I have enclosed an EURUSD 60min chart and there have been no actionable events in the last 24 hours.

If the timeframes in the Buy and Sell conditions are left at the default of 0, the timeframe is taken from the Trade Parameters section.

This allows individual conditions reference other timeframes if required.

Hi Dave.

After each profitable trade, the EA will increase lot sizes up to 20 lots. Is it possible for you to allow users to limit their own lot sizes. Like if I can't stomach 20 standard lots, I can set it to like 10 standard lots, max.

Thank you and have a Merry Christmas.

In the next revision, I will reference the BufferValue in Trade Parameters as a maximum LotSize indicator.

In effect, this value will have a dual purpose in that it will still be the pip tolerance for a straddle trade and now, additionally, a maximum lot size indicator. In light of your suggestion, I may also use this value as a percentage of equity limiter for wager increase on successive losses.

Update at Post #1 ver 3.15

  1. Open trades now display net loss (after commission)
  2. Limit on Max Wager (using Wager Multiple) now defined by Trade Buffer value (max % for losses, max lots for gains)

Please read the help file before you post.

Quote:
1.0 - The Wager Increase Mode - this is the multiple that wagers will be increased on successive losing wagers. 2.0 means double the wager 1.5 means 50% increase in wager. The maximum wager is limited to 20% of equity. Next loss reverts to min.
End Quote

If you change the Buffer value to 10, then the 20% described above becomes 10% or if you are using the Wager Multiple on winning trades (by adding a suffix of "p") then the maximum lot size is 10 lots.

Apologies. Too much eggnog over Christmas.  Didn't read that the wager is now limited to 20% of equity instead of going up to 20 lots max. Thanks.

That is not correct.

If the WagerIncrease multiple is used on losing trades (the default setting), the maximum wager will be limited by the value of the Buffer Value which is a percentage value. This setting has a default value of 20% but can be any nominated value.

If the WagerIncrease multiple is used on winning trades (by using a suffix of "p"), the maximum wager size will be limited by the value of the Buffer Value which is a lotsize value. This default value is 20 lots but can be any nominated value.
