Funny (or may be sad) how the media outlets in general are doing their best to shut down peoples ability to speak their mind. If you didn't noticed yet, CNBC is not allowing comments in their articles anymore. Bloomberg also did the same thing few years ago. It seems they can't afford to see people voicing their opinion anymore and it may be related to the fact that they talk so much BS which made people refer to them as CNBS

I used to post there a lot, and pretty much all my posts had the remark "CNBC and other economic media outlets are for entertainment only", till one day an editor emailed me some not very nice words and put a cork on my posts for almost one year.

Well just as I did with Bloomberg, it is one less site on my bookmark toolbar. I lose some fun bashing and exposing their BS, but I gain on the fact that I can use the time for something more productive.

IMHO Trumps victory was a clear signal people are not buying what the media says anymore. At least they are not buying it so easily. So they have to suppress peoples opinions exposing their schemes.

So....so long, farewell, bye bye CNBC, apart from the entertainment kick, you will go with zero (or close to zero) benefits for my trading learning curve, education and experience.
So, you think you have rights? LOL

Why would you watch this s...t in the first place. What value they have? Talking head picked based on number of words they can produce per minute? The same for most online "trades resources". Just look through archives and see how many contradicting news/articles on the same subject comes in and how many of them came actually to fruition. Those "analyst" serve them self and people who pay them, not you, an individual speculator.

As I explained above " for entertainment only " I can't deny I had a kick bashing their BS ( and I will miss it) but you are right. Not only CNBS but any economic ( and regular) news outlets out there only talk BS.
So, you think you have rights? LOL

You guys read stuff like "Trading in the Zone" etc, but do you actually understand lessons provide there?

If one watches those things regularly, whatever for entertainment or not, at what point subconscious mind will actually start to believe what it learns and influence conscious mind?

There is a reason why Jung said: "You are what you do, not what you say you'll do."

For a starter...

I agree with what you said.

Using CNBC as an example it can be VERY DANGEROUS for somebody depending on their trading level to watch it.

Gosh....looking back I'm an example ( actually my account was an example) on how even morons like Cramer can have an effect on you. Back in 2007 when I started I'm ashamed to say that I really believed those people.

I never thought they knew everything, but I figured they knew at least something. And I may learn something listening to them.

Well....now I'm pretty convinced they run a scheme to influence as many people as they can to be on the wrong side of the market meaning taking the other side of the professional traders.

Of course I can't blame any of my multiple margin calls on them, because at the end of the day I was the one holding losers.

After you mature as a trader I believe Economic news outlets can be pretty entertaining.

Anyways if I could go back to my beginnings and give myself an advice I would tell myself to stay away from them!!
So, you think you have rights? LOL

Sooner or later most people who are capable (still) of critical thinking come to the conclusion that ALL mainstream media provide nothing else but 100% BS!

It has NOTHING to do with informing the public. Nothing!

The media today exist for two main reasons:

1. To make money.
2. To serve the interests of the people who pay the most money.
It's all about corporate/government propaganda, political correctness and marketing.

Do not trust the media!
If you want true information - you have to go to the source.

And if you want to learn some really important stuff about what is really going on around the world you have to learn how to navigate darknet.
With the right sources, connections and software, you can find information about anything. But it's not like searching in google.......darknet today is what the normal internet was 20 years ago (before google yahoo bing.....).

Yep !!

The internet is still "free" in in terms that they still don't sensor where you can go, but the big search engines and social media hubs are all part of the big scheme to keep the herd as dumb as possible.

The darknet may be an option to get stuff unfiltered but as you said you have to know what you are doing.

I can use TOR but thats about it. Anyways as time goes by and you become older and wiser ( hopefully) you start to see what goes on underneath what they are trying to make you see. It helps.
So, you think you have rights? LOL
