if anyone thinks trading is difficult you want to try working out your pension!!! I'm supposed to get a pension in a couple of months, and because my former employer went belly up taking it's pension scheme with it I'm supposed to get a payment from the "financial assistance scheme", and now I have to make some choices. They would be a lot easier to make if I could fathom out what the hell they are trying to tell me. I'm not an idiot but believe me taking decisions that will affect the remainder of my life based on the questionable information I'm presented with is like wrestling with fog!!

At least I can trade all the time both my eyeballs & fingers work, making a pension a bit less important

Thanks T-D
AUD/USD just triggered 10 pips up on my platform. I'm going to have to learn about your techniques. I've been watching the PA on my 1min TF as you advised, fascinating the wrestling going on there. And thanks to all. As all of your questions, answers, and elaborations only further pique my curiosity.

Happy Trading

Here is how I traded it: I missed the profit target and I moved my SL below the reaction - as indicated. Not on BE! This saved me and then I took full profit (10,4 pips). I usually don't take less than I planned from a trade.

don't you just hate it when that happens, didn't get on the Aussie trade as it just missed the buy price with my broker, and now the Yen trade has turned 1 pip away from the level .......... poop. Onwards & upwards, well done to all that did get the trades
Ignored
I started entering the trade 1 or 1.5 pips before the level as I don't like to miss any trade as the waiting is too long. I managed to take both trades but exited with less than 10 pips to protect my trade. I think the difficult part is training our mind when to exit and when to enter.

USD/JPY +10 pips profit
If you entered with market order you should be fine, if you had limit orders you probably didn't get filled by your broker. That's why I always go in trades with market orders.

Well done, I moved it to BE + spread (0.74781). Price hit my SL exactly on 0.74781 and now went straight up. Ooh, I so much hate when this happens.

I have written an indi, which helps me to draw Dale's levels. The indicator uses data from a CSV file (notice, that the date in first column is in the format DD.MM.YYYY hh:mm). This file - daleslevels.csv has to be saved in the folder ...\MQL4\Files\ Indi goes to ...\MQL\Indicators\ and it has to have DLL import allowed. You are free to modify it. Thanks Dale for this thread! Honza {file} {file} {file}

And if you closed half your position at 10 pips and let the rest run there was a nice extra 10 pip bonus.
Thanks for all your work Dale

was posted by michisuperfr on post 1241, thanks for asking as it reminded me to give him the thumbs up

I did try loading on stock market indices (my own favourite trading instruments) but it made my platform freeze. But it works well on the pairs we trade here, but I will say it is obviously only picking up the volume from your chosen mt4 provider, & so may be different from the true volume which can only be found from the futures exchange.

so you closed half for 10 and then another half for 10? may as well close all out for 10?

Sorry didn't explain to well. Closed half for 10 pips and second half for 20 pips giving 30 pips in total.
Edit: Which in my case was a R:R of 1.5 (only has a 10 pip SL due to S/R and RN)

Dale, great job! I would like to ask you, is it possible to add instruments: dax, dj30, nasdaq?

Thanks a lot!
