Thats great, this works for TP'S. SL's are traditional sort of thing, last swing high/low. Welcome any feedback if you develop SL principles based on this

Live example of this playing out

H1 EU this BB is suggesting the last DS which is playing out now will be a small run down.

Reasoning is that there is a small BB bubble (ie small volatilty), this doesn't mean it may not run but at least the probability is in your favour to get it out of the trap to see

Of course it is H1 and "small" is unclear, if you look at this move from the 8/21 entry signal it has moved already circa 80 pips and now hit the BB. This is still a good trade but is small in context of some H1 runs. Main point for me is the high probability at the point of 8/21 entry in this instance there was about 80 pips in this trade and SL above last high so 31, gives about 2.8R which is worth taking

Last point this for me is still a running trade albeit it has stalled currently , I would move my SL to the 31 pips so I am in a 1R trade with a current space of about 50 pips to let it breathe

here i was in before the the adx was rising anticipating that the divergence will be playing out perfect entry was at approx 1735 (cypres time) when all adx in M5 were rising we had in H4 an ichimoku reject in H1 RSIOMA divergence in M5 also divergence and adx rising

To me after the DS on H1 there is always a retracement and this is at present time; than stoc. 8 will turn down again on 5 M and H1.

jp, marco and the others. How do you determine that setup has good risk reward? For example lets take H1 ds trade. It can go 20 pips and turn against, 30 pips,40,50, 60 and more how you choose your stop loss levels? thank you fxlocator for you example TradeFinder can you show more examples of your approach, i'm not sure if i get it right. With a more calm mind, I was able to overcome the dragons that bothered me in the analysis, and now the settings are clear, analyze h1, enter m15 and confirm m5

Multi time frame Analysis

I have been re-reading the teachings of Master Alien and it seems some inexperienced traders can be led astray by the maxim that smaller time frames drive larger timeframes. The danger with this teaching is that newbie thinks, aha I have set up on M5, I will not worry about H1, H4 and Daily - M5 drives them after all!

I will be controversial and say no time frame drives any other time frame. They are simply measurements of the same thing (price action) over different scales. Like I see my country on Google Earth and zoom down to see my house haha.

I also suggest that higher time frame set ups are stronger in that price should travel further than for set ups on smaller time frames (unless smaller time frame has higher time frame support - what we want of course). The reason being that higher time frames show more accumulated price action in one view. Like big oil tanker ship takes longer to turn around than small sailing boat. This would be why Alien do his MTF analysis from top-down not bottom-up. And as Alien and JP say when all TFs work together then we have best entries.

Please Alien Masters JP & others, let me know if you disagree so I can learn more.

Thats the name of the game .... Choosing a higher tineframe signal, and watching the lower time frames turning in that direction....Trying to catch the golden 3rd wave is the hard bit..... There are some patterns that occur all the time but being patient enough to wait and sit on your surfboard is the toughest skill to get right.... When I have time to trade I want to trade .....but this can take out all your gains if your not careful .... At least it has happened to me in the past and I bet many others here too .... :-) So yeah be patient :-)
