Just as a note for those who like install mt4 on an other partition or external drive. It can free a lot of space from C.
Copy mt4 program folder to any drive or partition on a new folder like D:\FX\account01\
Make a shortcut to desktop from terminal.exe (right click)
Open property of shortcut (Deutsch Eigenschaften) (right click)
add " /portable" to destination (Deutsch Ziel) (add with a space)
like D:\FX\account01\terminal.exe /portable
Run it.
Then copy your old folders (should be under user roaming...) into the new one. Done, now you can delete the folders on drive C.
All future history and tester files will be safed on the new drive.
You might just copy and keep the old one until you are sure everything works good.

I've been sidelined for a while but happy to see the continued progress. Good trade above just want to chip in that real retrace is better caught with 1hr tf . Can you show that.

I have been really successful with the use of Bernhard his indicator, thank you!

This is an example of one of my running trades, the entry was a bit late, but it is running great.

This trade is set on the D1:

It is nice to see all these trades which have been profitable.

However there are often more to learn from trades, that did not go as expected.

Is there anyone, who is willing to share his failures, so that we can learn from them, and not do the same ourselves.

We all make mistakes, but there is no reason to repeat them.

It would also give Bernhard the opportunity to modify the indicators, if there are difficulties in using them.

I completly agree, it is no shame to show where market turned against us even though the strength was positioned correctly.

Hello Plutifax,

Well, I had a very good week, but there were also trades I closed with a small loss. I closed these trades because they were no high probability trades anymore.
I can not say it is a failure or mistake when I entered them, the conditions changed, so the chance my take profit would be hit, was in this situation unlikely.
Next week I will post some of my trades when I see a setup, with a brief description why I entered.

I am interested in the criteria, that others use for cutting a trade that is not performing as expected.

How much has it to go against you, and how do these indicators help you in the decision process?

Do you use a preset stop loss, or do you decide according to the change of the strength curve?

GBPAUD 85 PIPS
It topped out with consolidation and bearish divergence and a small fake break out.
Entry when AUD took up to build the dGAP with GBP.
SL above last high
TP at last low.
In the following CS crossed very strong, could have taken the double pips.

You have asked Menko so maybe he will find a time to answer you. But he is trader and does not spend much time with forums. We can accept that.

I have provided many different solutions to how to use stop loss. You should take your time and read the strategy thread. Also I have presented exit rules how you can cut a trade earlier.
In general I do not use fix pips but strategic levels like last high and lows. Also you can trail your SL - not with fix pips - but with lower highs and higher lows. I hope you know for what I speak otherwise read basics for trading first.
After some time your trade is going in the right direction and you trailed your SL into positive you can switch to a higher TF and manage it from the higher TF to stay longer in the trade.
Remember cut your losses short and let your winners run is truly a better strategy as most beginners do the opposite. Beginners often hold into losers with “hope” (A trader does not hope!) and beginner often take early pips, which is the opposite from above mentioned rule. You see this is more a question of psychology and not a question of strategy.

Of course I do not want to put any pressure on Menko. He has gratuitously offered to share his trades in the next week, and I hope to learn form that.

I have read the strategy thread, and i am also familiar with the different ways of setting SL and TP.
I tend to use at trailing ATR based stop, which lets me stay in until the direction changes significantly, but your indicator give other opportunities to detect changes in direction.


My interest is not so much to how but more to why.

As an example I would be interested in learning why you closed the GBPAUD trade.
As I understand it, the indicator did not give an exit signal.

I try to learn from people, who have more experience than myself, because rules and their application are two different things.

Therefore I am grateful for any explanation given by other traders.

I did not close GBPAUD trade. It hit TP.
