A new version of Agility Trader is available at Post #1

The significant changes are -

  1. Inclusion of a basket Take Profit and Stop Loss scenario: All trades - pending or open are automatically deleted and auto trading is disabled when a nominated Equity level in Profit or Loss is achieved. (aeq, hep, lep)

This is particularly relevant when using multiple instruments
examples-
"or1 1 0 aeq 0 0 0 0 gt 0 hep 10200 0 0 0" for buy exits
"or1 1 0 aeq 0 0 0 0 lt 0 lep 9800 0 0 0" for sell exits

  1. Addition of a manual Close All trades button to achieve the same effect as above.
  2. Addition of an equity tracking indicator - AT_equitychange.mq4
  3. Changes to some included set files
  4. Update of companion program for changes above
  5. Updated help file

If you do not get a reply on the same day to a Personal Message, it is due to the Forex Factory policy relating to Commercial Members which restricts me to 1 PM per day. I have tried to address this situation on numerous occasions but there has been no reply.

Maybe you can help me by just posting all questions to this forum or contacting the Moderator on my behalf.

I am releasing a further update at Post #1 to address a number of small errors. I know the updates are occuring frequently but this is to your advantage.

Need to highlight use of the time function (tm). Times are calculated to the nearest second but entry and exit conditions are only evaluated at the end of each bar (except SL and TP which are evaluated on every tick).

So if you require an exit at say time 1045 and your default timeframe is 5 mins, you need to specify time gt (greater than) 1040. Of course bar change is dependant on the timeframe so if a 1 min timeframe is being used then the relevant argument is gt 1044.

Any further Personal Message (PM) support will be provided on the AgilityTrader3 forum here (see Post #62 above) Very regrettable!

Sometimes a smaller opening Lot Size will work better with Wager Increase Multiple because it allows for more consecutive losses therefore you could choose to optimize the Equity Percentage as well as the Wager Increase Multiple.

I have uploaded AgilityTrader Ver 3.10 to Post#1.

This is a significant upgrade and includes the following changes.

  1. Ability to read set files from within the EA
  2. Ability to delete set files from within the EA
  3. Ability to set the default set file on EA load (this overrides the default RSI strategy)
  4. Ability to edit the inputs from within the EA instead of returning to the input dialog box.
  5. fixes to optimization logic
  6. fixes to multi instrument buy and sell logic
  7. changes to the help file

NOTE - The default RSI logic has now been included as a set file in the Set Files directory in the installation zip. All set files should be placed into the \MQL4\Files directory as all file operations are conducted within that directory. (see Help File)

Hi. When a Buy Stop is implemented in the EA, where does the EA place the Buy Stop order?

If it was MKT order, it will executed immediately but with a Buy Stop, where will the EA execute the standing order?

Thank you.

It will be placed with the Broker and will be executed when the required price is reached.

A couple of changes

  1. Trade Parameters are now editable (missed in last update)
  2. Zero value inputs are now recognized.

Firstly you are not using the included All_Black template.

Secondly you have not provided any details about your user indicator, the name of which should be included in your set file so I have no way of checking. Even if you had provided the correct name, I have no way of verifying your inputs or what your strategy is all about. I have mentioned repeatedly that I need a copy of your set file and in your case, the User Indicator and the strategy that you are attempting to employ.

In the first diagram, you have a setting of "eq .01" I presume that should be "fl .01" and that is why you have no value in your trades with an equity of only 500. A wager increase factor of 8.1 indicates that you really don't know what you are doing. In your second diagram you have a wager increase multiple of 36?

It might be best that you continue your education for the time being.

OK. Got it. Overlooked it in the Help File. I was thinking that I can specify a buy stop, for example, 10 pips from the high of the previous bar, etc.

I re-read the Help File and noticed that the code in the main line has a BUFFER that will specify the distance from price, of which I assume is the Closing price o the previous bar to set the Buy/Sell Stops.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, Dave.

The price that the buffer is attached to, is the price that relates the Buy or Sell Entry strategy.

Morning. I may be wrong but I think the WAGER part is still not working correctly because, even after I placed a W Suffix, it will still wager up (add lots instead of reducing lots in the even of a loss) even after a loss. From the HELP FILE it was stated that with the W Suffix, it will only increase lot size when it wins.

Did I get that wrongly?

Thanks.
