Dear Dave!!! Hello. Would it be desirable to specify, key, what you deported gives an opportunity to trade? For me why that in general does not react on Backtes and accordingly on optimization. Thank you.

AT3 has by default a simple RSI strategy which will trade if you click on the Auto button. I would recommend that you consider optimising for the relevant instrument and required timeframe.

I didn't really understand your post so I hope that gives you some guidance.

There are some major issues with my programming and please do not use Agility Trader 3 at the moment but rather wait for the next update which may take another week.

As you would appreciate, this has been a major rewrite and I have become aware of issues that have only been highlighted by very loyal followers. I do appreciate that 99% of you are after something for nothing but this post is out of concern for the people who take the time to provide meaningful input. As you would appreciate I have gone to great lengths to keep Agility Trader out of the Commercial Content area as it reduces the input that I receive.

At the end of the day I have a number of people who are happy to pay for what I have to offer (in fact all upgraders of previous versions received this multi instrument upgrade complimentary). It is just that an innocent comment regarding money changed my classification.

Those who have dealt with me personally know that I always respond in a timely manner regardlessly, so please bear with me as this is a constantly evolving concept and I will never let any error go uncorrected. This is a very sophisticated programming concept and we are only scratching the surface so please follow along and be patient because I know where I am headed and I can't do it without your support.

Regards
Dave

An update is now available at Post #1 to address presentation problems with low res screens and to address calculation errors mentioned in Post #22. Fortunately the errors were easily located.

My next priorities are to make a video on User Indicators and commence discussion on some of the more advanced features within AT3.

question: after optimizing "gbpjpy'' and other pairs for an example and the best result listed 1st and the equity curve look fantastic and all, then I click "Auto Trade", but after about an hour or so, i visit the same chart, and click "Backtest" and the result/equity curve looks totally different(in a bad way). I'm expecting the result and equity curve would stayed the same as when i optimized it about 1hr ago.
Thanks Dave.

I would like to help you but much more information is needed.

Do you realize that as time changes, the lookback start for backtesting changes also, so that a trade that was opened in your last run at the start of the period will not necessarily open at the same time in your next test and the test results will differ.

For example, If a trade opened near the first bar of the first backtest, the fact that a trade is already opened will prevent any further opening opportunities from occurring whilst that trade is opened. If after period of time has elapsed, that bar has disappeared from the last 3 months, a different bar may open the first trade and a wholly different dynamic is in place regarding the timing of open and closed trades. This factor is understood by few and that it why it is difficult to comment on differing results from different brokers. It is all about the timing of trades and is particularly relevant with shorter time period charts with larger Take Profits and Stop Losses. That is why I say I need more information.

Please PM me if you do not understand this.

If you have a problem and need assistance, I need a copy of your set file (upload as .txt because uploading as .set will not succeed)

Enclosed is a set file for a 60 min RSI strategy. (rename to .set)

After loading the set file, just press backtest to observe the result and then press optimize to observe the improved result. All parameters that are optimized are represented by an alphabetical character after the number (common parameters have the same alphabetical character)

Hi Dave Awesome program that you have made. Would love to have it running but I am having some problems. Would you mind helping me? I have set up everything following your instructions in your video but when I press backtest, nothing comes out. I have dll imports allowed already.

Have you enabled expert advisors? You must also be online. Have you enabled eurusd in your displayed symbol list? If all that is correct, try pressing backtest just after loading without changing any parameters.

If that works, then you probably have a mistake in your inputs. If it is a syntax error, you will get a warning message anyway.

I have uploaded a video to Post #1 on using User Indicators. The example files are available at the bottom of that post.

There is also an update to the installation file to allow for changes to code for pending orders.

I actually have two brokers. One with the stupid prefix that you mentioned and another one that does not. I tried adding the prefix eurusde and tried changing it to usdjpye but to no avail.

I have also tried it on another computer of mine but i'm still receiving this message.
2016.11.10 12:29:18.349 AgilityTrader3.03 USDJPYe,H1: zero divide in 'AgilityTrader3.mq4' (1678,135)

Seems like a really cool software if I could get it to work.

Have you downloaded the latest update? I did pay some attention to error trapping the zero divide error.

Please upload your set file and I can investigate.
