I only use the 20 SMA but thats not to say other SMA wont work. I just cant say much for others as i have not used or spent the time looking at them much.

I just realized that your system seems to be rather profitable if traded on a Daily basis. Just as a for instance, CHF/JPY had a long signal yesterday (Thur) at EOD:
that triggers today and would have yielded some profits for today.

Also from Thursday there were 4 other signals that could trigger on Monday:

1. AUD/NZD - short
2. CAD/JPY - short
3. EUR/JPY - long
4. EUR/CHF - short

I will be keeping a keen eye on those next week.

I think the other line is the 50SMA.
Moi, I use them both. For bullish trades, I want the 20SMA to be ABOVE the 50 SMA, and for bearish trades, I want to see the 50SMA above the 20SMA, forming a ribbon. If the ribbon is inverted, I won't take the trade. That is just my bias.
Higurashi-san, in post 1, mentioned that he uses only the 20SMA as a demarcation line between bull and bear.

Yes, my original images had the 50 SMA but i was not using it for deciding trades. I only use the 20 SMA at this stage. Sorry for any confusion.

Have you attached both the non lag dot signal as well as the non lag dot indi? There are two indis that need to be attached.

Ok, looks like same issue someone else had. I see your nonlagdot indi has changed the file name and now has the (2) at the end. The nonlagdot alert indi references the nonlagdot file so if you change the file name of the nonlagdot indi it wont work. Make sure not to change any of the file names in any way.

A little above or below the close of the candle when signal comes. Say 1-2 pips. You only want the order to be triggered on the break of the candle and not be hit by spread.

I hope to do this for all the pairs i trade but its rather time consuming so ill see how i go. I have plotted on each day of this last week possible trades and their results. Now, the numbers may be a couple of pips off but its meant as a rough guide. Also, the charts show the whole day but this is to give you an idea of what was available over the different trading sessions. As i said i trade Asia and a bit over half of London, for the NY trades i see if i can pick any up the next day early in Asia. As in i will enter the trade late if the price is around the entry level and the trade is still valid. All marked as "No Trade" are trades not taken because of pending order not being hit or SL too far away. I use max 40SL.

- New Trading Strategy - "BETA TESTING ONLY"

As with any strategy, there is always room for improvement. I have been looking at an addition for the original strategy. The entry strategy for trades remains the same, Above/Below 20 SMA, max 40 SL. The difference to how i have traded up until now is that i will be using Fibonacci extensions as targets for TP. I have been playing with this idea for a while now and will try trading with it live next week. Using Fibonacci extensions makes it easy for you to set your SL/TP and walk away to let the trade play out. From analyzing past charts i have noticed two things using this method.
1. Works very well and gives much better results with weaker trends or ranging markets.
2. Can mean missing out on lots of pips in a strong trend.
With this in mind its sort of a dammed if you do dammed if you dont scenario. However, long term profitability is key to any trading strategy and i believe that overall this method may give better results in the long run. Below is an example of how to trade with this method of using Fibonacci.

I will begin trading this method to see how it works in live conditions and also will analyze more to see if there is a better way to get better results such as use a trailing SL etc so that you dont miss the bigger moves but still dont get taken out by the smaller ones. If i find this does in fact work better then i will update my strategy on page one to reflect the new rule for placing TP.

1. When you get a valid signal, Draw your Fibonacci from the high of the candle to the last low/high.
2. Place your SL below/above the last low/high.
3. Place your TP at 261.8 Fib level.

If you want you can also put a break even SL when price gets close to the 261.8 level, say at just in front of your order price or at fib level 161.8

I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Besides that, the SL would be way too far away. Now if the market to start moving between the gap and the low/high made then i will get back in so long as my SL rule can be maintained. Being election week it may not be the best week for any type of trading.

Generally i dont like to over analyze the market and just stick to my trading plan and rules. Too many times i have left a trade only to see it go very nicely in my direction because if an ill fated "gut feeling". But i dont like huge gaps like that.

Using Fibonacci targets for TP.

Going on from my last post about judging and setting TP by using Fibonacci extensions, i had stated that it works well in both trending and ranging conditions in most cases and gives a much easier and more realistic TP target. Plus the set and forget function makes it easier to trade.

However, i did also mention that many pips can be missed in a strong trending market. Well, i thinks both the set and forget TP level at Fib level 261.8 works well but another option for those who can and have the time to watch the charts is to have a similar manual trailing SL as to the original version but insted of the Sweet spots, trail the break of the 261.8 fib level. For example when the candle closes above/below the level, move your SL up to the high/low of the break candle or just x pips away from the level. This will ensure that you still get the wins if the market decides to turn around at that point, but also enables you to keep following any strong trends without missing out on big pips.

I like your take on this system mrhigurashi. I just finish reading the entire NonLagDot thread and found this one. Looks good and today I entered a short on EUR/USD. Demo account for now.
