Every athlete, in every sport and at every level, experiences a confidence crossroads.

The problem with many athletes is they experience a bump in the road but they wallow in so much self-defeating negative emotion that they lose the emotional energy and motivation to make a positive change.

Low confidence will remain low and lead to further poor play if you never do something about it.

That is why the mental game skill of confidence is so important for all athletes.

In fact, confidence is the number one reason that athletes seek out help from sport psychologists and mental game coaches.

Like it was previously stated, all athletes experience confidence crossroad moments...

Take for instance Philadelphia Flyer veteran defense-man Andrew MacDonald who signed a six-year $30-million contract prior to the 2013 season.

MacDonald played so poorly at the start of the 2015 season, that not only did he lose ice time, he was demoted to the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms for 43 games.

Despite the humiliation of going back to the minors, MacDonald remained determined to earn his job back. MacDonald focused on building his confidence and was rewarded when the Flyers called him back to help the team on their late rush to the playoffs.

MacDONALD: "I think I just had a bit more confidence with the puck. Down there [with the AHL Phantoms], I think I was just able to reset things and get back to the way I'm capable of playing.''

MacDonald gives us a great pearl of wisdom when it comes to confidence.

MacDonald was able to differentiate between a stint where his play was not up to his standards and what his true capabilities are as a hockey player.

This differentiation helped MacDonald put things into perspective and work to regain his confidence.

MacDonald learned something valuable about confidence... If you work for confidence, confidence will work for you.

Try this tip to overcome your confidence crisis:

When playing below your normal standard of play, you need to take time to determine the actual culprit.

Ask yourself, Did I lose my ability or did I lose my confidence?" Or "Do I need to improve my commitment to training?"

well, even if I didn't open at the hour 2, hour 3 is a 'new hour' and I open within rule #6, if I were to open @hour 2, then I got 2 active open trade.

if I implement Elliot Wave then, trade iii should not exist, because price breaks ii. HL, but yes even if I didn't use EW theory, price clearly break the LO and closed few pipettes away from the last swing, so, I shouldn't open in this kind of 'candle developtment'?

if I look from hour 1 to 7, yes, it looks like market showing me short structure, but at the new lowest open @ hour 8, how am I supposed to know market going to make a new day's low before going up beforehand?

When you guys say this are you meaning trade the new H1 Open High (Higher than Yesterday High) or the Yesterday High itself?

1. Asian Session usually has a lower range than the rest. The odds of catching big pips is smaller than other sessions. Hence: take profit while it is there, either by accepting -say- 5 pips, or trailing every 1 or 2 pips, or trailing every M1 or M5 candle. "Whatever it takes".
2. I don't understand that remark, blame the time (2.24 am).
3. I don't know EW and I'd like to keep it that way. I eyeball what's going on, combined market structure-ish plus how candle ranges bull/bear develop and how well the market responds to an important point by closely watching candles hammer the bid/ask at that point. All I'm saying is you should watch that and closely look at price action, literally, and absorb the info without a preconceived notion of the market has to turn around now (or not). You don't want your internal filters to respond to what your brain expects, you want to circumvent your filters.
4. you can't know upfront. But, again, you can learn how the market behaves and approaches your intended point of action. I think you refer to the new lowest open in hour 7 instead of 8. The lower high at the start of the 8th hour combined with the rail road track (the almost equal long/short bars) in hour 7 would make me suspicious of a long. But, having said that, nothing is set in stone and it is easy to put a label on things in hindsight.
5. that trade couldawouldashoulda made up for the rest and paid for a later, bigger lunch.
6. typo: slamed should be slammed. 8 long range candles (LRC) down and then two teenieweenie bars up, one close below H1, and then you expect the market go up. I always like to see proof and small bars like that aren't proof togo long, but to add to the short because they show a relative unwillingness of the market to go up. By the looks of it there wasn't a close below the H1 open either.

All in all: do continue, be patient, better to let go of a trade than jump in the wrong one. If you haven't done it before, watch the market approach critical points and see how it behaves. This is a matter of time.
