This will take a lot of time which most are not prepared to put in and still may not get it.

I think you misunderstand me. Fundamentals are 95% -5%. Technicals are 95% - 5%.
If you want to make money though I'd strongly advise you to be a contrarian, long term view.

There's people who get lucky but 5 marbles out of 100 is not very good odds. I believe in the efficient market hypothesis, especially now, since PC's are a reality all over the world. It take just an instant for news to travel and for people to respond.

Supply and demand is true. Once the market is one sided and run out of investors its time o jump on board. It's the only time your going to make REAL money.

At the risk of preaching, I'll briefly reply in full to your request for advice with a meta view of speculation and how trading fits into the game of making money.

Most people generate income by selling their labor to another business in exchange for a salary and job security. Professional traders, arguably, fall into this category because they are given a budget and are provided with the inside information with which to then make intelligent trades. Bank traders have it especially easy, because they actually *make the market* on a coordinated trading floor where they must position and then execute large customer orders (e.g. from hedge funds) in the market. So they know the general lay of the orderbook as well as customers' direction and within which timeframes. Then they only need to apply their daily $5-10mil trading purse to making money for the bank as they fill customers orders against one another. That is very different from what we have to learn and do as retail traders.

Retail trading is a solo path of income generation by applying our mind to a complex organism in what can, in the final description, only be called professional gambling.

By definition the solo trader is on a path of rare-skills development that requires Patience and Discipline. He must learn many things about markets, economy - and specifically - about price charts, price action, technical analysis and market psychology. That's a lot to learn, and if you want to trade then you have to learn it all. So the question is then: How do we best learn?

Professor Edgar Dale's "Cone of Learning" illustrates that reading and listening to presentations convey some skills, but that Simulation and Actual Doing are by far the most valuable means of learning. I would argue that simulation and - more so - actual trading are the best ways of learning this game. Of course, you have to read a lot (indicators, trading strategies, economics, etc) and then simulate those in the market, just as you have been doing. But 2 years is a very short time and your frustration and sense of being overwhelmed is probably a result of information overload and the lack of a roadmap. e.g. learn about this, then do that in the market. If 'x' doesn't work then discard it, try 'y' instead, etc

So basically, there is no roadmap in trading and the best we can do, is something you have already started doing: gloss over absolutely everything out there. The Babypips.com school curriculum is fairly comprehensive and covers most of what you need to "know" to operate as a trader. The next part is the Actual Doing and this is where most traders go wrong. It took me a while to figure out the right strategy, and its really simple.

Firstly, in the course of learning practical skills we will make mistakes. This is obvious. However, when we make a mistake in the market, it also happens to cost us money. But we have to make those mistakes in order to learn those lessons, so what is the obvious conclusion? Its like this:

Unitl you have found your toolkit (of indicators and timeframes), and until you have found the one or two strategies that work best for you and your temperament, and until you have made all those inevitable mistakes that eventually lead you to finding a consistent winning trading method: you must trade with very small amounts only. Fund your account with $20-$100 everytime you blow your account, and be determined everytime to double that amount with market trades. As you discover Your Winning Method over months and years you will find that you spend more time nurturing growing funds and eventually stop replenishing your account because you will have come to a strategy of protecting your funds rather than over-committing to trades.

This entire approach is one of Money Management and Risk Control. By using a small trading account and seeking to preserve those funds, you maximize your ability to continue learning. By the time you have discovered a winning method that works for you, trading will already have become a boring prospect and you probably will not need to fund you account with "a large amount", since your money management skills will have prevented you from wasting funds and you will have grown a considerable account balance.

Money management and risk control are 1000x more important than catching trades "just right". If you can quickly and correctly assess the risk and drawdown of any position you open then you will not lose large amounts in the market, and avoid the self-torture and demoralization of letting losers run. Kill them quick and humanely!

If you realize that you are embarking on a path of learning about market gambles based on direction and distance, then set up your learning environment, nice and simple, with a small account, and test all of the conventional wisdoms and rules of thumb for yourself: divergence, S&R, MACD signals, etc. Use 1:1 leverage, try 400:1 leverage, open trades when you feel compelled and see what happens. open trades in the opposite direction of what you think will happen, etc. Practical learning in search of a winning method. Since you're working with money, your primary responsibility is Money Management and Risk Control.

It might sound meaningless, but its probably true that every indicator has value. It's just whether you've found an indicator that has value for you.

What I found that works for me anyway, and I recommend to learn only from all the free resources out there are:

1. Definition of a trend and how to recognise one.
2. Divergence especially Hidden Divergence.
3. Support & Resistance on the charts
4. Supply & Demand on the charts.
5. Timeframes.
6. Market Manipulation & Price Fixing.
7. Trade Planning & Recording.

This should be your advance study over the basics. You should also have a full understanding of the process of trading, risk management and trade psychology. The basics can be learnt from the many free resources out there also.

Havent read the whole text but what you said here, killed me....divergence, MACD signals?! Those are indicators what he is not looking for at all, market DOESN´T WORK because of them, jesus. USE 1:1?! Let´s play 50 and 50 %....that´s not trading...and lately 400:1?! for real?! You wanna let him suicide?! You know why many people blow their´s accounts?! ´Cause of high leverege.

The only shortcut would be a Mentor to teach you, like that you might be half way only, then only experience will give you the confidence needed, and do not believe anyone who says this and this does not work, peoples tend to generalize to others what did not work for them based on their experience but it is like saying there is no life anywhere else than on earth, the world of trading is so vast, it would be way too arrogant to say that there is no way to do money this or this way, I do think, especially in trading, everything is possible.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is your determination because if you keep trying you will succeed, but for sure it will cost you in many ways...

Proven informations are found after years of practice, unfortunately. If profitable traders would make public "proven informations" would be unfair, isn't it? They lived few years of their life in front on their monitor studying and practicing...

Few month ago somebody here requested same help, like you. I sent him a book . Time passed and there is no sign of life from him. I have lost my time with him. And I've sent him a very special book because I thought he was a special man wich is very involved to learn. Like I was many years ago. My trust was deceived. Like me, are other traders too. They were dissapointed. We prefer keep everything for us by now .

Hey, so last week my notebook arrived back. I'll try to write something simple, yet informative enough, especially in the area of so called gurus and systems so that absolute beginners won't get scammed as easily. Please be patient, I have a sh*tload of studying and even though it does not bring me even the smallest piece of joy it needs to be done.

Banks, hedge & mutual funds do NOT use any systems or strategies. Not even indicators.

They use the main indicator, which is the Price Action. The most useful indicator that I've found since I've started trading.

Unfortunately, no one will sell you a good strategy or indicator, because, if its so profitable, then why don't they trade it themselves.
