@MT7: Providing the BTs - did you try a lot of other parameters ? So the question is: are your BT results here posted even the optimized to use for us beta testers ? So no need to use other params and run the forward tests only with H1-TF/params similar (or even identical ?) to yours ?

Hi MathTrader7,

nice work with the EA!
I am not a coder and I love the ability of this EA to recover from bad trades in a relative safe manner and that it has an emergency stop build in.

My question is, if it would be much work to omit the self-entering trades of this EA (as an option).
Meaning, I want to enter trades on my own according to my own rules and if they go the wrong way, the EA can take over in the same manner as it does now.
Basically just a recovery EA that recovers my initial trades in the same flexible manner as this EA already does.

I don't want to high-jack this thread, but it might be of value to others who have their own system and just want a smart recovery EA.

Martingale is for people who can't read charts... People who never want to be wrong..

Works great till you get that one huge move that never comes back and just keeps going and going for years.
The only system that will work is one designed by and for yourself.

I totally agree with bloodpoodle.

I have never seen a martingale EA which is profitable on the long term. You will always end up losing your money!

This EA has its own entry logic. In the future I may create an EA to manage a manually opened position as you mentioned.

I actually DONT believe in EA in the 1st place & Martingale I NEVER EVER would trust!!!

From the first moment I saw this EA with Martingale I thought It would be another waste of time...

Then I bactested your EA with my own way... & then It proved itself in EURUSD

OK... then I thought you may be somehow "Curve fitted" with EURUSD from 2010 to 2016 therefore, backtesting in EURUSD pair is a waste

Then, I checked with other pair as well....

Amazing!!! Awesome....

Your EA now... very close to PERFECTION!

Very similar to the Matrix Grid Trader CE thread by Googletrader http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=518257.. We tried everything you guys are about to. May do some good to read up on some of the ideas there.

To bad it ended up a commercial venture for him to rope some suckers. You will see how it fizzled and died in the last few pages of the thread.

Regarding these negative notes raised by BillyYon. Shouldn't deviate the attention on this thread. No matter what happened with your experience and if the EA didn't work for you, here Math and others are trying to improve an idea and positive support is welcome.

Math, what about introducing lot entry based on equity. As the win trades grow the equity the lot increase in relationship with it.

Cool down bro ! All we have to do is dealing with facts ! And "BillYon" wrote about an important fact: all the grid + marti strategies are very very risky in trend markets .... so, yes, he is right, never forget about this. I saw grid Trader EAs doing well for many months ... almost a year things went so great, so beautiful, so right - I thought already I'll be a millionaire soon ... until that day crashing the account ! No offense mate - be careful, but you never know ....

What I wrote is very positive.

The very first "note" is a quote from Math himself on page 1 "NOTE 1: Martingale based EAs are very risky! Use this EA at your own risk."

Math fully understands the high probability account blow with this. I mean 50%+ DDs come on bro? Only gamblers allow that. You would likely pass out at 30% loss.

I also pointed out a very similar thread with ideas to research. Did you even check it out?

Hi DerBerliner,

I didn't examine each and every possible set of values for the input parameters. However, I would use the settings shown in the backtest results on Post 1 to test the EA on EURUSD,H1 and on a demo account.

Here was one idea for trend change from the other thread

[+] MultiLotsFactor_TrendChange - When trend changed, EA will increase lots to close grid as soon as possible.

That EA was basically the same. Only difference was entry trigger. You will notice at trend change muti lot fact increased bringing dynamic target closer for a possible quick exit.

Here is the day I used a VERY similar system in a "hedge" Trap to gain over 500% in 3 weeks on demo. Also what I did to make that happen.

Hey all,

Danke for the thread and EA, MathTrader7.

I've found this thread (and EA of course) interesting and ran some tests on my own...

I don't quite see this kind of return around and made around 4x the amount on my tests from 1st November>1st August. 1000>4710 usd.
I'm not able to run longer tests, so if someone wants to keep on testing this with my setings....here they are.
