Hi, can u do this same test but with fixed lot size? Let's say, 1 lot? I think it's more reliable work with manual increment of lots.

Thanks

Well, lot=1 is a bit to much:

All yesterday tests were done, as clearly stated, with JamesT set file (post 491), only changes are fixed lot=0.1, chart TF and EA TF.

Hi,

I have a couple of requests, but first i would like to say that i am not quite sure if the hedging is working
1) could you add comments and/or different magicNumber to the hedged position, please?
2) could you add a hedge %, to allow the user to choose.

thank you

The Explorer Posted is one of my own creations that combines the ideas posted in this thread by Abokwaik with a little of my own personal trade logic.

It's running on an M1 chart, but filters through the day and daily trend.

Though not a terrible start, there is room for improvement. Might give this a little more attention over the weekend, may even apply the triggering methodology to a Renko chart...ya know...for shitz n gigglez.

I don't have at this moment history files for other 3 pairs.

Anyway I think that more important is to find the best settings, as results so far aren't so good...

Finally I managed nice results, 500% profit in 6 months with only 25% relative DD (1jan to 9jul 2016):

The problem is, as reported previously by someone else, when tested in other periods it don't works (1jan to 31dec 2015):

How are we going to salvage this great idea?

Markets change. One has to identify why the expert did poorly and well during certain windows and adjust the expert accordingly (e.g., the requested hour filters and other filters, etc). Or, more likely, for lower TF's, the settings will have to be adjusted to market conditions repeatedly. So you choose settings that work over a past window (e.g., a year) and then trade those forward over a smaller window (e.g. a month), and then repeat the process each month. The hard part is (i) choosing settings that are not overly curve fit and (ii) choosing the size of the test and forward windows. These issues are open to debate by some and the best approach may be to try different ones of (i) and (ii) and see which work best over a long period of time (a time consuming process and exposing the limits of MT4). Even then, on lower TF, it has a solid chance of not walking forward profitably. A losing a expert in the hands one trader can be a profitable expert in the hands of another trader and vice versa IMO

my observation of V5 was: it gets killed in tight range market, and shows a good performance when the market moves.
Consequence - look to avoid buying peaks and selling dips.
I already made my suggestion, Abokwaiks time is limited, i´m sure he will publish V6 when he find the time and it is ready.
just do it

Somewhat expected that it will do well outside of tight ranges for those seeking 1:5 RR with a 5000 target, stacking multiple trades, etc.
