When I (Moritz) came into trading, I was – as so many – dragged into the Forex markets. Their advertising is all over the place, their forums are the biggest, they have the biggest and easiest brokers to access, and the market overall is badly regulated, making it easy to open accounts. Additionally, you can start to trade with as little as 200$ or even less, and the leverage available makes the dollar signs go bling in our eyes. Actually, Moritz joined my Forex mentoring group in October 2013, and made his first million dollars circa April 2015.

From his first million, he then invested a large six figure amount in his father's new business (in Germany), and he continued his love of Asia and Asian women by traveling extensively between all ports from Thailand to Japan trading 3 days a week.

He's still online in our Skype Trading Room, but we never hear from him these days. I haven't caught up with him for well over a year, and so I have no idea about his foray into Futures, Tradecity etc. But he is the real deal as far as I am concerned regarding his past success in Forex.

Yes similar, though not the same. He's a smart guy, and he's adapted what he now knows to a broad audience that includes the USA where hedging is not permitted and leverage is greatly constrained.

As I said, I am not familiar with TradeCity, and I don't know if they sell trading systems or anything at all. But Moritz is a smart guy. He's done very well for himself.

It would be interesting to compare apples to apples between fx and futures: compare cost, delays, slippage, margin adjustments and other issues between somewhat "equivalent" fx and futures orders during periods of low and high volatility (news).

IMO, it is simply a matter of what you do the best with--don't let details get in the way.

I have 2 fx accts, which I seldom trade now, and a futures acct where I spend nearly all my time. That works best for me.

I was lucky enough to had sense to download most of Moritz's futures videos off youtube before they (tradeciety) decided to take them off. Doesn't look like they're coming back anytime soon, likely due to the site's focus on fx.

Worth a good look. His partner, Rolf does a weekly watchlist. It's free. They used to do an affiliate broker link click thing, but it was a small not a big deal thing. They have since progressed to making a trading journal service, where they make abit of dough. But largely, the content is free on the site. Learnt a number of things from both Rolf & Moritz. I've since switched to futures, trading only flag breakouts or reversals.

I trade both. But because of the segregation of futures I keep much more on the futures side. I don't like Gain at all, but have been a customer of OEC , now FuturesOnline for years which Gain bought, along a/ GFT, so I'm stuck there.

clever boy, I did the same thing about 7 years ago. actually I started trading stocks and index futures, but then got persuaded to take a forex course. then suddenly after trading forex for about six months, it suddenly hit me!

Have done both , need a couple of $ G to do futures as opposed to $200 to learn with real live money in a forex account . if you're fine with the money its definitely cheaper per trade in the futures . MG

The learning curve is steeper when you continuesly blow your account through too heavy margin use if u get to the point where you ask yourself the right questions
