some uk real estate investment funds have a run on them. looks like uk real estate is going to get cheaper. if some of those holders need to sell u.s. investment more liquid like equities/etc. it may lift gu from redemptions. or not

it takes time to sell illiquid property. all things are connected. a rush to redeem property, pressures banks.

what bank would loan money to buy something that looks to lose value at any moment?
it may not be cheap yet.

those banks already hold paper on property, that property value could drop fast. those bank assets may be negative shortly if not already.

i don't know. i have witnessed this 3 x before here. the early 1980ties (oil depression), 1990ties (s&l) and after 2008. banks had to fire sale foreclosed properties. many for pennies on the dollar

small banks failed in early 1990ties.. that's the reason we had the large mega banks in 2008.. those banks are even larger today
