Hi traders,

First things first: This is a strategy I'm trading manually live on Index CFD and JPY pairs, having quite interesting results, reason why i decided to put some code on

Edit: I do not work on this EA anymore as I am focusing on other projects, however you can find my source code down this post to do further improvements yourself. Do not hesitate to share.

Objective :
Catching noiseless trends and avoiding range/choppy markets

Means :
Using a mid-term ADX and its moving average (parameters of these two will depend on your own optimization, feel free to share yours)

Entries :
On ADX / ADXMA upward cross, i.e when a trend appears and accelerates

Direction :
Long if DI+ > DI-, Short if DI- > DI+

SL/TP/TS :
Custom blends of 2 ATR and an average HiLo

Alternative exit :
When the entry condition flips over (DI+ > DI- >> exit short; DI- > DI+ >> exit long)

I added an MA to MetaQuotes' ADX in order to come up with the custom indi ADX+ADXMA you'll find down this post, it was quite easy hence I'm sharing the MQL file
I will share the EA's code with those among you who're keen on coding and interested in improving the whole strategy, keeping it simple.

Instruments :
My forward test has shown that The following instruments and TF give the highest profit factors:
GBPJPY | USDJPY | AUDJPY | CADJPY | USDCAD | GBPUSD | UK Oil | Gold | Dax30 | S&P 500

Timeframes :
Commodities >> H4
Fx cross >> M30 to H1
Index >> H1 to H4

I tested every angle on the ADX I could think of and I could not find a system that was consistently profitable. In the end I found that the ADX was not very good and finding trends, which is what it was purported to do. I am still curious though if it can work. Waiting to see how this works for you.
Could you plz guide that which file is the EA ????

Hey, thanks for sharing this. The base value of adx is 50 and adxma is 25 both at the indicator and EA. Should i change those to 40 as i can see in the first post?

Hi there fellow! Well I don't think you can tell ADX is a useless indicator as it is used by so many amazing traders around the place.. Tell me more about your approaches? Stay tuned for the early bird results.

Good point here my lad, as far as I've traded this I can tell you that every pair has its very own sets as patterns are usually different between crosses. I'll give you the sets I'm using tomorrow at the desk, but please do some backtest, tweak the sets yourself and see what suits your style

I do not think it is useless, and I didn't test every angle obviously. However I did run more backtests with it than I can remember. If I have time I will go back over my notes, I will also run the same kind of backtest on your EA. Looking forward to see how you do.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and EA. I will do forward testing on demo. Do suggest to change setting in indicator ADX+ADXMA in line with EA settings on the charts?

Hey, If you want to visually see what the EA is trading and why, of course you should adjust your indicator to the EA's settings

well yes maybe hopefully...especially after what george soros said today,,,well i went with an early postal vote here for brexit and when my colleagues found out i got massive stick for it at work

Thank you for the sets, i put them on a demo account and will see.
What option i can change to limit my loss in each trade?

For example, in DAX30 with 0.5 Lots (12,5€/pip) i have losses between 1.200 € - 2.000 €

I want to limit this quantity to 500 € for example.

My settings:

ATR/Hilo 15
ATR Weight 1.0
Hilo Weight 0.5
Targeted 3.5
Trailing 0.5
Lots 0.5
Money Management: Classic
Martingale 1.1
