Most of mine were based on M30.. M5 probably not needed but more for comfort.

The good thing about M5 is the small engulfs that can get you into a move or take small RR entries.

You can take a 2:1 or 3:1 or let the position run with trend. Or a bit of both.

Well you can't argue with that.

Just to add to this I would say the key for scalping really is risk to reward. Sometimes I've been guilty of trying to catch the big 200 pip H4 move on the M5/M1 and grind down my account in the process.

Sure, this can happen but I think it's safer to take your RR (3:1 ideally) and get out, or 3:1 and then maybe leave something at break even.

For scalping I look at H4 with M30 PA and then engulfs on the M5 to join the direction (ignoring any opposing M5 zones or opposing M5 PA).

I can't keep my entire stop behind the M30 PA (as it hurts the RR) so it usually goes behind the M5 engulf.
