In the mean time Rob just put a 5,20 and 200 on the chart and when all three line up ,start the EA
If the trend is up I was thinking of setting the the parameter in the common tag (long and short) set it to long trades and monitor the Ea every 30 minutes and close when you get a cross of the 20 and 5 ema or use a trailing stop to keep you in the trade
At the moment I am in Cornwall so not trading at all.

There is an old saying from Lancashire
IF my Auntie had balls she would be my Uncle
Any way IF you had traded overnight on the gbp/usd and the gbp/yen
Using a bias of 200,20,5 ema taking the trades you would find that gbp/usd would have probably broke even but the
gbp/yen would have had 3 trades
one loss depending on your stop loss say 40 pips
one trade that would have stopped out by your traiilng stop of 30 pips profit 10 pips
One massive win of 400 pips and still going

That is what this version of this strategy is doing, but as you can see there are times where the market is going sideways but the 3 EMAs are aligned correctly, i'm looking to add a filter so that there needs to be a big enough gap between the EMAs before it will trade. I think this is what you guys are doing manually so you can see the angle of the EMAs all pointing up or down. You need something smarter than if 5EMA>20EMA & 20EMA>200EMA because you will find this is true a lot!

Additionally, how far back does the EA look to spot 5 dots? because this effects the overall performance as well. A days worth of bars? 2 days? That is why I have included a variable called LookBack

I find the half trend Indy to be smarter than *normal* MA both for trade entry filter and close. There is an atr filter indy i know which can also help. Will locate and upload it later. Meanwhile My suggestion for adjustment of the pending order to the lastest high levilli for sell and latest lowest levill for buy was not considered in the ongoing upgrade. That suggestion can make for better entry and more pips.Simplicity is not the ultimate sim in trading but profit making cos it seems raylin is more interested in keeping the system simple

GBP/yen made 320 pips now and another crossover as occurred to the downside
59 pips profit so far so most guys will have locked in pips
I do get quite wary when the price gets so far away from the 200 ema ie nearly 180 pips
Like the idea of extra indicators but not in the Ea .
After all as Zwara said this EA must not run all the time but brought in when the conditions are right

Have a look and post them MQ4 if possible, I will go off on my own tangent and investigate these.

  1. Good trend spotter indy
  2. Proper use of an ATR filter
  3. look into using angles between peeks to identify lower lows or higher highs tends.

I know you would have to pay your guy to get all these extras in and i'm not saying you should bother. I want to investigate this myself and post the results. You could explain how you identify a trend/when you think conditions are right and see if one of us could code it.

If i were to buy copy i would certainly not distribute the mq4 or ex4.

I am simply looking at other ways you can improve on using the original Livelli indy. You had a good idea with only using trailing stop, we tried it (free) and it didn't work out too well.

This seemed to help a little, but once the gap had widened enough to enter it was almost too late to enter.

If you find the trend every day we would all be millionaires
Expect the losses and if you are lucky once or twice a week you will hit winners that because of
stacking will more than compensate for your losses
if the EA was a one stand alone unit I would have been kicked out of this early but judge as you go

I might say it was a good day that will continue sometimes scalp positions turn to transform into swing trades

excellent results Zwara
As I said before
you only need one good trending pair and it makes up for the none trending pairs
Trading the gbp/yen on your 5 min time frame taking only shorts as the 200 20 and 5 emas were trending down the movement was 220 pips
but your profit was
1200 pips because of the stacking principle
risking 1% of your account that's 30% increase in 1 day and only trading one pair
If you had just traded the gbp//yen this month you would have nearly double your account
