simply and easy trade

Other peoples systems won't work for you... Trading is very individual... Based on your personality.

Some things I look at when placing a trade.

1. Higher time frames..
2 Risk on/ off feel to the market
3. which currencys charge to be short.. Nobody likes to pay swap if they don't have to!
4.Time of day.. Is it the beginning of the session.. Or midday when traders are at lunch.. or right before a market opens.
5. I look to OIL, GOLD, BOND STOCKS.. USA, DAX, japan and china markets for clues..
6. Market structure.. Is there room for the move I want to happen...
7. time of year.. Is it slow summer/christmas

I'd have to say my biggest factor is time of day.. Am I gonna take a postion right into a new market open.. No.. cuz thats when reversals often happen.

I must agree with this comment, I have been trading for just over a year and until I finally constructed my own system that suits me I was unable to be a profitable trader, I just bounced from strategy to strategy losing money

Channel Trades

Best not to go looking for these, they seem to just "fall into place" and offer very solid Resistance and Support levels to trade from. I used to trade this one whilst working so I'd be looking at the h4 and Daily timeframes mostly. It is a bit of an art in that it can be discretionary how you draw the lines but the basic premise is that it is trading from the outside of the current price action.. the outter circle where people get trapped in the wrong direction. The general feel is that you are entering at a point where even if you are against the trend it is a high probability to at least make a pull back. But personally full reversals were the goal.

When the DIAGONAL AND HORIZONTAL lines are in confluence then this is your level. The most obvious lines are the best because if you try and "force" it it won't be as effective, so can take some practice to see it.

Personally I used to take a loose entry at the top or bottom and then when the market turned my way tighten the stop loss and add more... Then I would pyramid at every retrace keeping the risk small and constant throughout the entire trade. With this way I would aim for 10-20 R


It took me 12 months trial and error to arrive at my final trade and money management (everything after the entry). But the entry price is quite simple.

50/50 Break Out

This one is much more mechanical in nature and more of a science than an art. Although as with anything can take a bit of practice to see. Although th example given is on a H4 chart I prefer this on lower Timeframes because the market is still in combustion rather than a higher TF which has already moved 50 -100 pips before the entry level// Much more likely to make a pullback in this situation as is what happened in the real chart below.

The art in this is to find the ranges which is not so difficult if you think of it in momentum segments (trendline)






Just some ideas, not sure if it helped

all methods are good on paper, but as soon as you use them in real you'll find out that no matter what, there are always 50% of probabilities that market either go up or down.

this do apply especially on intraday movements.

now, i think the idea to target 2-3% daily (or whatever % daily profit) is not compatible with trading, simply because the market have accumulation (choppy, ranging, flat, low volatility, however you wanna call them) phases, and distribution (breakouts, trends, movements, trade opportunities) phases.

simply put, watch out to spot good trade opportunities and exploit them, and stay away from intraday trading, it's a trap! (bad R:R and high level of randomness).

Almost every method work, you just have to learn one and master it, then you will see profits. You dont want to be sticked for long months to the same method because is boring and you dont see profits on the beginning?

So sorry, get a job at McDonalds, you will end with more money

I like to use the Grand Old Duke of York method.

When it is going up...I trade up
When it is going down... I trade down
And when it is already half way up I trade neither up nor down.

Works all the time on any time frame and any pair.

In my long experience as a currency trader I have come to some very deep i.e. profound conclusions.

All my best trades are winners.

All my bad trades are losers.
