I can not agree with you. You can download the AgilityTrader for free and it has nothing to do with the Slope indicator. My feeling is that Dave is very helpfull if you have an issue or if you don't find an information in the manual.

Just to make things clear. I found the Slope indicator on a other forum and I just added an output signal to be able to use the indicator for my for backtests. The attached setfile ist the one I am working on right now. Maybe it can be usefull for what you try to achieve.

Personally, i have had nothing but positive experiences with Dave and his EA/Programs. Dave has always responded to me in a timely, professional, and helpful manner regardless of my question. I would not hesitate to recommend his products. I am a big fan of Agility Trader and its companion and look forward to testing Heatmap shortly.

Im just catching up after a few days away and I must say I cant believe I am reading this stuff.

In relation to the comments made I have the following words.

Dave_C is the most AMAZING source of trading knowledge and experience, who has programmed everything a trader could dream of in one neat package called Agility Trader. BTW for FREE!!!

I have traded forex and stocks (and survived tech wreck in 2000). My thoughts are keep it simple stupid (KISS) and explore the basic functionality Agility Trader offers and the world is at your feet. I reckon everything one needs to successfully trade is contained in Agility Trader - so TAP into what is available here.

The guy who built Agility Trader is passionate about trading and assisting traders to get to the next level. He has bent over backwards to accommodate me and I have witnessed the same for others.

If you don't feel the same way (apologies for the Aussie vernacular) you should BUGGER off the thread!

Hello Dave! I really love your concept but i can't manage to put it work properly. I tried the .set samples and no one takes any trade, i tried for my own and still the same. I read the entire pdf but can't figure out the problem.

just wanted to say thats life..can't please everyone..just know you have empowered a large majority and to me..thats good enough..am trying to see how i can incorporate Bill Fractals on D1 timeframe and drill down to m15,m30 and use indicators such as RSI,CCI etc and any such combinations offered via agility trader to trigger entry..incase of problems/queries/challenges i will revert

Hi, can anyone help with TickData?

I am OK with downloading/exporting etc however I am not sure how to append new data.

For Example, I have data for 7 Majors from 01.01.2016 to 30.04.2016 and would now like to add May data.

Do i, Download Jan thru May and the Tick Downloader system will recognise what I have already?
Or Download just May data (or 'since last Date') and append? How?

Then in csv2fxt script do I just quote new dates to add?

I will have a play and see how it goes?

EDIT 1 OK first part just set period you need and Start Download it adds to its existing downloaded data. I was a bit thrown that File months start at 00 for January.

Some more information such as journal messages will help resolve your issues.

No. You can use any indicator at all.

Some indicators have a number user inputs greater than 7 (the coding limit at the moment). Some are just color values anyway and the "extern" keyword - indicating a user input, can be removed or you can just reorder the inputs so that up to 3 required inputs fall within the first 7 user inputs. Note that only one buffer number can be read per user indicator. If you require two buffer values, nominate the same user indicator in the 2 User slots and specify a second buffer value in the second indicator slot.

A coming update will change the setup somewhat in that the 3 user input values will need to be the first 3 users inputs in the indicator (to cut down on the coding required) and additionally up to 5 user indicator slots will be available giving the potential to read up to 5 buffer values from the same indicator.

Csv2fxt does allow you to specify a date range but does not append to an existing fxt file.

Found the problem. On strategy tester,the EA does not work when it is based on equity so i changed to fixed lots.

Leave the Fixed Lot Size at 0 (Zero) which is the default value if you are using the Lot Size based on Equity setting.

Just remember to use the "Reset" button at the bottom right of the User Inputs if you wish to reset all your settings.

Harking back to post #468 regarding the Railway lines indicator and set file.

Just wanting to clarify that when tweaking the CalcBars and Multiple - this is NOT done by adjusting the MQL code in the indicator. Correct?

If running as a custom indicator in Agility Trader I will adjust it there? In particular parameter1 represents CalcBars and parameter2 represents Multiple. Can you confirm please. Screen shot below and attached set file.

Also, if you have any updates to the original set file to share or info it would appreciated.

Hello Dave,

I have a problem with my set file. Can you please help me out?

 

  1. I made a set file on Agility base on CCI + MA using pending order for the entries type but no BUY trades were opened all through the 5months run when I tested on Strategy tester. I found some errors in the journal as in the screenshot below. I've also attached the set-file and wish to be assisted of where I could have gone wrong.
